Temporary Restriction To Use Of Road Order 2024

On the 12 March 2024 the Council made the above named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order has been promoted to restrict vehicular access on a section of A77 Ayr Road, Newton Mearns, from its junction with Mearns Road northbound for a distance of approximately 1.3km or thereby, in order to facilitate the essential carriageway resurfacing works on or near the road, scheduled to be carried from Monday 15th April to Friday 26th April 2024. The Order authorises the closure of the road for the duration of the works.

Vehicular access to properties within the extents of the closure may be permitted by the contractor on site only when it is possible to do so in conjunction with the works going on at the time. Access for emergency vehicles attending an incident will be maintained at all times.

Alternative Route: Mearns Road - Eaglesham Road - A77 Ayr Road and vice versa.
