What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC137582240: The City of Manchester (Sackville Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Sackville Street from its junction with Altrincham Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Sackville Street, Charles Street, Princess Street, Granby Row & Granby Row, Princess Street, Sackville Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate masonry repairs on the railway viaduct. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 30th March 2024 to 31st March 2024 between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00. The order shall come into operation on 30th March 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 19th March 2024. ORDER NO. MCC137948930: The City of Manchester (Barlow Moor Road, Didsbury West Ward) (Temporary One-Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Barlow Moor Road One Way from its junction with Pine Road to its junction Wilmslow Road (permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be: (1) Wilmslow Road, Lapwing Lane, Palatine Road, Barlow Moor Road (2) School Lane, Parrs Wood Road, Fog Lane. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate a new electrical connection. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 2nd April 2024 to 12th April 2024. The Order shall come into operation on 2nd April 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 19th March 2024. ORDER NO. MCC000137950353: The City of Manchester (Kingsway, Burnage Ward) (Temporary Closure of Bus Lane) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any bus, taxi, or pedal cycle from proceeding at any time in the following length of bus lane: Kingsway west from a point 39 metres south of its junction with Moseley Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 43.5 metres The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate installation of the new advertising board. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 2nd April 2024 to 1st May 2024. The order shall come into operation on 2nd April 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 19th March 2024. ORDER NO. MCC000137827633: The City of Manchester (Dover Street, Hulme Ward) (Temporary Suspension of Parking and Temporary Introduction of No Waiting and No Loading) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to suspend the operation of the designated parking place on Dover Street from junction of Oxford Road to junction of Brighton Place to provide a safe passage for pedestrians and to introduce No Waiting and No Loading at Any Time on that length of road. The Council is satisfied that the suspension and prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a safe passage for pedestrians. It is expected that the work will be in progress between 2nd April 2024 and 8th April 2024. The Order shall come into operation on 2nd April 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
