What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U7840 Furnace Lane, Cowden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Furnace Lane – from the junction with C461 Holtye Hill to the county border.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C461 Holtye Hill – A264 Holtye Road – C460 Shepherds Grove Lane, Furnace Lane (Kent) and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 March 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7548 Darbys Lane/Brinkers Lane, Wadhurst)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Darbys Lane/Brinkers Lane – from the junction with U7546 Snape Lane to the junction with B2099 Moseham Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7547 Snape Lane – U7546 Riseden Road – C14 Tidebrook Road – B2100 Mayfield Lane – B2099 Durgates, High Street, Lower High Street, Moseham Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 March 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2110 Withyham Road,
Withyham/Hartfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Withyham Road – 50 metres either side of Hewkins Bridge.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2110 Castlefields, High Street – B2026 Jib Jacks Hill, Cotchford Hill, Chuck Hatch Road, High Road – B2188 Black Hill, Church Hill, Lye Green Road, Plumyfeather Lane, Cherry Gardens Hill, Hendal Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 2 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 2 and 14 April 2024, depending upon the weather conditions.
