What is happening?

Temporary Traffic Management Order the London Borough of Barking And Dagenham (High Road And Farrance Road, Dagenham) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024

Notice of Making

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate manhole cover replacement works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has made a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 8 April 2024. The works expected for:

  • Manhole cover replacement works to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 8 April 2024 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 9.00pm and 11.00pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:-

  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on High Road, westbound carriageway, from a point 8.9 metres east its junction with Farrance Road for a distance of 23.3 metres in a westerly direction.
  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Farrance Road, both sides, from its junction with High Road for a distance of 1.4 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Farrance Road, both sides, from its junction with Morden Road to a point 1.4 metres south of its junction with High Road.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

  • Via High Road, Bennett Road, Morden Road and Vice Versa.
  • Via High Road, Woodlands Avenue, Farrance Road and Vice Versa.

5. When this closure is in place the following locations will temporarily be controlled by:

  • 3-way traffic light signals on High Road, from the common property boundary of 169/171 High Road for a distance of 45.7 metres in an easterly direction and on Tenby Road, at a point 5.2 metres north of its junction with High Road.
  • 2-way signalled controlled pedestrian crossing on High Road, at a point 10.5 metres east of its junction with Farrance Road.
