What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

A242 Gatton Park Road, Redhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Further to the issue of a Notice under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) on 13 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of “the Act”, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A242 Gatton Park Road, Redhill that extends from the northern side of its junction with D1242 Carlton Road, to its junction with A23 London Road South. This Traffic Order is required to enable Sutton and East Surrey Water to carry out water mains repair and/or maintenance and/or replacement works in A242 Gatton Park Road, Redhill between the access road for “Lodge Farm Mews” and D1253 Colesmead Road. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 March 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative route: - A242 Gatton Park Road, A242 Croydon Road, A25 Reigate Road, A25 Hatchlands Road, A25 Linkfield Corner, A25 Station Road, A25 Queens Way, A25 London Road and A23 London Road.

Cannon Way Townpath (T8023) Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 13 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in that length of Cannon Way Townpath (T8023) Fetcham as extends from its junction with (D2527) Cannon Way to its junction with (D2566) Mole Road. Alternative Route: Mole Road, River Lane, Cobham Road, and Pound Crescent, or this route in reverse. This Order, which will commence on 28 March 2024 for a period of 6 months is required to facilitate detailed bridge inspection works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night between the hours of 9pm and 5am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. No sole access will be affected by this closure. 

Boxhill Road (D311) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Boxhill Road (D311) Dorking which extends from the northeastern property boundary line of “Cherry Tree Cottage” to the northeastern property boundary line of “Erin”. Alternative Route – Headley Common Road (B2033), Pebble Hill Road (B2032), Reigate Road (A25), Pixham Lane (B2038), London Road (A24), Old London Road (B2209), Zigzag Road (D311), Boxhill Road (X8106) and Boxhill Road (D311) or the same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:00am and 4:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 3 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. 

Various Roads in Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate resurfacing of carriageway and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 1 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.

The Schedule
1. that length of D1391 Ninehams Road, Caterham which extends from its junction with Buxton Lane to its junction with Milton Road. Alternative Route – D1391 Ninehams Road, C218 Buxtons Lane, B2030 Banstead Road and D1393 Milton Road;
2. the entire length of C85 Red Lane, Limpsfield. Alternative Route – C85 Red Lane, C85 Dwelly Lane, C87 Haxted Road, C87 Limpsfield Road, B2026 Mont St Aignan Way, B2026 Station Road, B2026 Main Road, B269 Kent Hatch Road, A25 Westerham Road and C85 Wolfs Row;
3. the entire length of C84 Hall Hill, Oxted. Access for buses may be affected. Alternative Route – C84 Broadham Green Road, D421 Southlands Lane, C83 Tandridge Lane, D422 Godstone Road, C84 Godstone Road and C84 Beadles Lane;
4. that length of D1382 Tithepit Shaw Lane, Warlingham which extends from its junction with B269 Limpsfield Road to its junction with B270 Hillbury Road. Access for buses may be affected. Alternative Route – B269 Limpsfield Road, B269 The Green, B270 Westhall Road and B270 Hillbury Road; 
5. the entire length of C227 Whyteleafe Road, Caterham. Alternative Route – B2030 Church Road, B2030 Church Hill, B2030 Station Avenue, B2208 The Square, B2208 Croydon Road, A22 Wapses Lodge Roundabout, A22 Godstone Road and C227 Whyteleafe Hill; 6. that length of B270 Westhall Road, Warlingham which extends from its junction with B269 The Green to its junction with B270 Hillbury Road. Alternative Route – B269 Limpsfield Road, C75 The Ridge, C72 Northdown Road, C72 Station Road, C72 Woldingham Road, A22 Wapses Lodge Roundabout, A22 Godstone Road, B270 Hillbury Road and B270 Westhall Road;
7. that length of C69 Bletchingley Road and C69 Pendell Road, Bletchingley which extends from the junction with Warwick Wold Road to its junction with Sandy Lane. Alternative Route – C69 Pendell Road, C69 Little Common Road, A25 Castle Street/ Bletchingley Road, C67 Church Hill, C67 Nutfield Marsh Road, C67 Nutfield Road, D1171 Manor Road, D1171 Albury Road and C67 Bletchingley Road. 

Church Lane (D1421) Chaldon Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Lane (D1421) Chaldon which extends from the northwestern property boundary line of “Little Garth” to the southern property boundary line of “Grove House”. 
Alternative Route – Doctors Lane (D1421) and Rook Lane (B2031) or the same route in reverse. 
The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 10:30am and 4:30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 2 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Various Roads in Tadworth and Horley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order No.1 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in: - a) That length of B290 Cross Road, Tadworth that extends from the north-eastern side of its junction with Lywood Close, to its junction with D1107 Tadorne Road. Alternative route: - D1107 Tadorne Road, B2220 Tadworth Street, B290 Station Approach and B290 Cross Road. b) That length of B220 Tadworth Street, Tadworth that extends from the southern side of its junction with B290 Station Approach, to the southern property boundary of “No.6 Heathside Court”. Alternative route: - B2220 Tadworth Street, B290 New Road, B2032 Dorking Road, A217 Brighton Road and B2220 Tadworth Street. c) The entire length of D350 Albert Road, Horley that extends from its junction with D353 High Street, to its junction with A23 Brighton Road. Alternative route: - D353 High Street, D351 Lumley Road and A23 Brighton Road. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out footway reconstruction works and/or highway dressing and/or resurfacing and/or improvement and/or maintenance works. These works are 
anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7am and 5pm, in 7-10 days for each part, as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, emergency services and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. 
Access for affected residences and businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative routes described above. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
