A1(M) Junction 44 to 45, North Yorkshire - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 44 TO JUNCTION 45)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable structure repairs, painting and general maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Thursday 21 March 2024 for 7 weeks, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am. The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, the A1(M):
(i) northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 44 to the entry slip road at Junction 45, a distance of 8700 metres;
(ii) southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 45 to the entry slip road at Junction 44, a distance of 7500 metres;
(iii) northbound entry and southbound exit slip roads at Junction 44; and
(iv) northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Junction 45;
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 20 March 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
