What is happening?

BRACKNELL FOREST BOROUGH COUNCIL

(Lower Broadmoor and Church Street Crowthorne) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that Bracknell Forest Borough Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, in accordance with Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction along:

a) Lower Broadmoor, Crowthorne between High Street and Old Pharmacy Court.

b) b) Church Street, Crowthorne between High Street and Church Street.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by section (a) of this Order will be via: Lower Broadmoor, Chaplains Hill, Upper Broadmoor Hill, Brookers Corner, High Street, and this route reversed. The alternative route for vehicles affected by section (b) of this Order will be via: High Street, B3348 Dukes Ride, Waterloo Road, and this route reversed.

The purpose of this Order is to ensure public & worker safety while Southern Gas Network carry out essential works to update connections in the carriageway.

The proposed Order (a) will come into operation on the 25th March 2024, and its maximum duration will be 6 months. However, it is currently planned that the road closures will be in place until 23rd April 2024. The proposed Order (b) will come into operation on the 25th March 2024, and its maximum duration will be 6 months. However, it is currently planned that the road closures will be in place until 30th May 2024. This Order shall only apply when the appropriate signs and markings are displayed in the road.
