What is happening?

Order 2024

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from driving in a southerly direction on a 590 metre length of B1285 from its traffic signal junction with the A19 northbound on-slip junction and extending southwards to and onto the eastern part of the A182 Roundabout to the junction with the A19 northbound off-slip road junction, Murton to enable sheet pile, abutment and footbridge installation works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the northern side of the restriction from B1285 onto A19 northbound, continuing north to A1018 Seaton Lane, then north to the Roundabout junction with B1285 north of Seaham Grange Industrial Estate and returning south on A1018 onto A19 southbound, continuing south to A1086, then south easterly to and around Little Thorpe Roundabout and returning north westerly on A1086 onto A19 to Jade Park / Dalton Park. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 6/4/2024 and are required as follows:- April 6.4.24 at 8pm - 7.4.24 at 6am, 7.4.24 at 8pm - 8.4.24 at 6am. May 25.5.24 at 8pm - 26.5.24 at 6am, 26.5.24 at 8pm – 27.5.24 at 6am. June 7.6.24 at 8pm – 10.6.24 at 6am throughout. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
