NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - Various Locations Within Wilsmlow/Alderley Edge/Handforth

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic -

Maclean Way, Wilmslow - For the full extent.

Ainslie Way, Hanforth - For the full extent.

Birrell Way, Wilmslow - For the full extent.

Pendleton Way, Wilmslow - For the full extent.

Pendleton Way, Alderley Edge - For the full extent.

Thorngrove Roundabout, Wilmslow - For the full extent.

Bollin Valley Roundabout, Wilmslow - For the full extent.

Bollin Valley Link Wilmslow - For the full extent.

Dean Row Roundabout, Wilmslow - For the full extent.

Dean Row Link, Wilmslow - For the full extent.

Prestbury Road, Wilmslow - For the full extent.

This order will come into operation on Monday 25 March 2024 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Monday 31 March 2025.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - Holly Road North, Wilmslow

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic - Holly Road North, Wilmslow - From the junction of Alderley Road to the junction of the junction of Holly Road South.

The alternative route will be Alderley Road, Parkway, Holly Road North via and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Friday 29 March 2024 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Sunday 14 April 2024.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - Well Bank Lane, Peover Superior, Knutsford

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic - Well Bank Lane, Peover Superior, Knutsford - From the junction of Cinder Lane to the junction of Boundary Lane.

The alternative route will be via Cinder Lane, Boundary Lane, and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Thursday 28 March 2024 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Wednesday 10 April 2024.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - Wilmslow Road, Handforth, Wilmslow

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic - Wilmslow Road, Handforth, Wilmslow - From the junction of Deansway Business Park to the junction of Bulkeley Road

The alternative route will be via Wilmslow Road, Manchester Road, Dean Row Road, Dean Row Road Roundabout, Handforth Road, Dean Road, Station Road, and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.

This order will come into operation on Tuesday 2 April 2024 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 12 April 2024.

Public Rights of Way Notice

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS ORDER 2023 - Footpath No's 76, 78, 89, 127 (part), 133 and 134, in the Parish of Wilmslow

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by sub-section (5) of Section 15 of the aforementioned Act, has approved the Order effective from the 23 August 2023 being extended and continuing in force until 23 February 2026 or until resolution of dangers posed to the public is identified and subsequent works completed, whichever is the earlier. The current effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following lengths of public footpath:

Public Footpath No.76 Wilmslow which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 8661 8222 and runs north east for 205m, then north, north east for 94m, then north, north east for 197m and then north east for 51m to OSGR SJ 8678 8266.

Public Footpath No.78 Wilmslow which commences at OSGR SJ 8678 8266 and runs north east for 131m to OSGR SJ 8686 8275.

Public Footpath No.89 Wilmslow which commences at OSGR SJ 8674 8286 and runs north, north west for 501m to OSGR SJ 8646 8328.

That part of Public Footpath No.127 Wilmslow which commences at OSGR SJ 8686 8275 and runs north east for 494m to OSGR SJ 8729 8298.

Public Footpath No.133 Wilmslow which commences at OSGR SJ 8677 8265 and runs north for 30m and then runs east for 31m to OSGR SJ 8680 8267.

Public Footpath No.134 Wilmslow which commences at OSGR SJ 8674 8286 and runs south, south west for 271m, then south east for 60m and then north east for 108m and then east for 42m to OSGR SJ 8677 8268.

All directions are general, and all distances are approximate.

The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public posed by an unsafe bridge and the collapse of part of the riverbank to the north of the bridge destroying part of the public footpaths in that area. The bridge abutment is at risk after the recent floods caused the river to erode the bank on which it is sited, and water is now flowing around it. No alternative route is currently available.
