VARIOUS ROADS IN THE COUNTY OF STAFFORDSHIRE
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITON OF TRAFFIC, TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY, TEMPORARY PROHIBITON OF LEFT TURN AND TEMPORARY PROHIBITON OF RIGHT TURN) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Staffordshire County Council will make an Order on the 12/3/24 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in those roads in the Borough of Stafford that comprise the route of the Stafford Half Marathon 2024 as summarised below. Any vehicle being used in connection with the event; or being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purpose will be exempt from the restrictions contained in the Order.
The restrictions are necessary to maintain the safety of all participants and road users. No alternative routes are advised for affected traffic as the restrictions will only be effective for so long as is necessary for the participants to pass.
The Order will not at any time prevent access of pedestrians to properties situated on or adjacent to any road to which the order relates or to any properties only accessible to pedestrians from such a road.
1. Save as provided in Article 2 of this Order no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed in the following lengths of roads:
Schedule 1 – Closures to be implemented and lifted between 07:00-15:30. Eastgate St (from Cope St to Salter St), Greengate St (from Crabberry St to South Walls), South Walls (from Greengate St to Greengate Walk), Tenterbanks A5187 (from Broadeye roundabout to Victoria Rd), Mill St (from Greengate St for approximately 73m in an easterly direction), South St (from Victoria Rd for approximately 93m in a north westerly direction), Lichfield Rd A518 (from Queensway Island gyratory for approximately 61m in a north westerly direction), Kingsway A5288 (from the roundabout with Redgrave Drv to Newport Rd), Newport Rd A518 (from West Wy to Bridge St), St Leonard’s Ave (at the junction with Lichfield Rd), Queensville Ave (at the junction with Lichfield Rd), Baswich Ln (from Weeping Cross to Audlem Rd), Weston Rd A518 (at the roundabout with Hydrant Wy), Portal Rd (at the junction with Beaconside), Sandon Rd (at the junction with Beaconside), Stone Rd A34 (southbound from the Redhill roundabout to the junction with Holmcroft Rd and northbound from Greyfriars roundabout to the junction with Holmcroft Rd) and Holmcroft Rd (from First Ave to Stone Rd). The following roads will be closed in their entirety: Tipping St, Water St, Victoria Rd and St Thomas Ln. Schedule 2 – Event Route and directly associated streets: Victoria Rd A5187, Station Rd A5187, Newport Rd A518, West Wy, Rising Brook A449, Rowley Bank A449, Park Cres A449, Wolverhampton Rd A449, Meyrick Rd, Salt Rd, Salt Ave, Abberley Grv, Ranshaw Drv, Lichfield Rd A34, Queensville Bridge A34, Queensville A34, Ampleforth Drv, Link Footway Between 2 To 18 Ampleforth Drv, Radford Bank, Baswich Ln, St Thomas Ln, Tixall Rd, Wolseley Rd, Birkdale Drv, Longhurst Drv, Weston Rd A518, Beaconside A513, Sandon Rd, The Haybarn, Tollgate Farm Access, Stone Rd A34, Holmcroft Rd, Young Ave, Charles Cotton St, Pitt St, Alliance St, Izaak Walton St, Link Footway From Izaak Walton St To Isabel Trail, The Isabel Trail, Timberfields Rd, Doxey Rd A5288, North Castle St, South St, Cycleway From Doxey Rd To Izaak Walton Walk, Izaak Walton Walk, Link Footway From Newport Rd To Mill Bank Via Meadow Bridge, Mill Bank, South Walls, Greengate Walk, Tipping St, Eastgate St, Market St, Greengate St and Tenterbanks A5187. An alternative route due to adverse weather may utilise: Nursery Ln & Link Footway Between Nursery Ln And Isabel Trail.
Schedule 3
The One-way Order on Mill St (between its junction with Water St and Greengate St) and Earl St (between its junction with Broad St and Water St) is temporarily suspended for the duration of this Order.
Left turns will be prohibited at the following locations: Mill Bank (when exiting The Swan car park), Beaconside (at the junction with Portal Rd) & Beaconside (at the junction with Sandon Rd, Stafford).
Right turns will be prohibited at the following locations: Malborough Ave (at the junction with Weston Rd), Beaconside (at the junction with Portal Rd) & Beaconside (at the junction with Sandon Rd, Stafford).
IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE ROADS WILL BE CLOSED FROM 07:30 HOURS. THE ROAD WILL RE-OPEN ONCE THE EVENT HAS CONCLUDED WHICH IS ANTICIPATED TO BE BY 15:30 HOURS.
The Order will come into operation on the 17/3/24 and will remain in force until the event has concluded. The event is being organised by Stafford Borough Council. A map showing all of the roads involved may be inspected during normal working hours at the office of the Director of Economy, Infrastructure and Skills, Highway Network Management, Third Floor, No. 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

The Order will come into operation on 14/3/24 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated the works will be completed on the same day. The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the pole replacement works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier. The Order will come into operation on 14/3/24 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated the works will be completed by 25/3/24. The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the Severn Trent Water remedial reinstatement works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

The Order will come into operation on 16/3/24 and the said works will commence on or as near as practicable to that date. It is anticipated the works will be completed by 18/3/24. The Order will remain in force for a period of 18 months or until the maintenance works, which it is proposed to carry out on or near the road have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
