Carlisle, Multiple Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Event
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CITY AND DISTRICT OF CARLISLE) (CARLISLE HALF MARATHON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (ORDER 2024)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Carlisle Half Marathon ("the Event") in Carlisle and the surrounding area, Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to: -
A. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the Schedule hereto, and;
B. Prohibit any vehicle from stopping or waiting or loading and unloading at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders), on both sides of the roads specified in the Schedule hereto.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 17 March 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required from 0845 hours to 1300 hours on Sunday 17 March 2024 or until normal traffic operation can be resumed, whichever is the sooner, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
Cumberland Council is satisfied that traffic on the roads detailed in Schedule hereto should be restricted to enable the Carlisle Half Marathon to take place. 1. Warwick Road, Carlisle - From a point adjacent to Brunton Park Football Stadium, extending in an overall westerly direction for approx 1.3km.
2. The Crescent, Carlisle - For its entire length.
3. English Street, Carlisle - For its entire length.
4. Paternoster Row, Carlisle - For its entire length
5. Castle Street, Carlisle - From its junction with English Street, extending in an overall north westerly direction for approx. 160m.
6. Abbey Street, Carlisle - For its entire length.
7. Annetwell Street, Carlisle - For its entire length.
8. Finkle Street, Carlisle - For its entire length.
9. Fisher Street, Carlisle - For its entire length.
10. Market Street, Carlisle - For its entire length.
11. West Tower Street, Carlisle - From its junction with Market Street, extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with Dacre Road.
12. Dacre Road, Carlisle - For its entire length.
13. Mayors Drive, Carlisle - For its entire length.
14. Dukes Road - For its entire length.
15. Newmarket Road - For its entire length.
16. Newmarket Terrace - For its entire length
17. A7 Bridgewater Road, Carlisle - From its junction with Hardwicke Circus, extending in a northerly direction to it junction with Brampton Old Road.
18. Brampton Old Road, Carlisle - from its junction with Bridgewater Road, extending in an overall north easterly direction to its junction with the A689.
19. U1181 Low Crosby - From its junction with the A689, extending in an overall south easterly direction for approx. 900m to its junction with the U1183 Low Crosby.
20. U1183 Low Crosby - From its junction with the U1181 Low Crosby, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 710m.
21. C1015 Linstock - From its junction with A689, extending in an overall south westerly direction for approx. 3km to a point adjacent to the 'War Memorial'.
22. St Aidan's Road, Carlisle - For its entire length.
23. Victoria Place, Carlisle - From its junction with St Aidan's Road to its junction with Warwick Road.
