THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.243) ORDER 2024

THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.155) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have on 7th March 2024 made the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. In order to deter obstructive parking and to improve traffic flow the general effect of the Free Parking Places Order will be to introduce lengths of 'at any time' waiting restrictions on both sides of Lodge Lane N12 between No.43 Lodge Lane and the junction of High Road N12. As a result of the waiting restrictions mentioned above being introduced, lengths of existing 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday waiting restrictions and a length of waiting restrictions operating 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday will be removed. In addition to the above measures the general effect of the Free Order will be to introduce lengths of 'at any time' loading restrictions on Lodge Lane N12 at the side of No.811 High Road and at the side of No.813 High Road. As a result of the loading restrictions mentioned above being introduced a length of existing 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday loading restrictions will be removed. In order to improve loading opportunity for local businesses during peak hours in the morning and afternoon as well as providing short term parking facilities for motorists the general effect of the Charged-for order will be to introduce a shared use loading only/limited stay parking bay approximately 13 metres in length outside No.825 to No.829 High Road N12 which will allow loading to take place between 8am and 10am & 4pm and 6.30pm Monday to Saturday and allow 15 minute free parking to take place between 10am and 4pm Monday to Saturday. As a result of the above measures being introduced, a length of existing Pay-by-phone payment parking bay operating 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday (Max stay 2 hours) will be removed. A copy of the Orders, which will come into operation on Thursday 7th March 2024 and the Council's Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@ barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 6th Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
