Central Avenue - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (CENTRAL AVENUE, WEST BRIDGFORD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (R24-050)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Central Avenue - for its full length of road.

2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From 08:00 hours on Tuesday 12th March 2024
Until 17:00 hours on Friday 15th March 2024

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

Bridgford Road - Rectory Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on Tuesday 12th March 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Severn Trent Water to carry out wastewater pipework repairs:
