NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of College Road Bedford.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriageway repairs and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the whole length of Houghton Road Bedford and to temporarily suspend the one way sytem on Houghton Road, Ossary Road, and Millbrook Road, Bedford. This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriageway repairs and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure and suspension of the one way restrictions is anticipated to be in operation 09:00 to 15:30 hours from 21st March 2024 to 22nd March 2024
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Ossory Way, Millbrook Road.
The reverse route applies.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO INTRODUCE
A 40MPH SPEED LIMIT ON PART OF THE A6
THE GREAT OUSE WAY, BIDDENHAM, BEDFORD
Reason for Proposal:
Following a recommendation from the Police, Bedford Borough Council proposes to reduce the speed limit on the A6 The Great Ouse Way between the Gold Lane/Deep Spinney roundabout and the St James Way roundabout. It is intended that this speed reduction will act as a “buffer” for the current speed restrictions on Deep Spinney, Bromham Road, and the new Bentley Grange development.
Effect of the Order:
1. To reduce the speed limit from 50mph to 40mph on the following length of road:
A A6 The Great Ouse Way, Biddenham, Bedford
(i) From the Gold Lane/Deep Spinney roundabout, to a point approx. 50 metres north-east of the centre of the St James Way roundabout.
B Bromham Road, Biddenham, Bedford
(i) From a point approx. 44 metres west of the centre of the Gold Lane/Deep Spinney roundabout (the start of the existing 40mph speed limit) to a point approx. 85 metres east of that roundabout (the start of the existing 30mph speed limit).
C Deep Spinney, Biddenham, Bedford
(i) From the centre of the Gold Lane/Deep Spinney roundabout for a distance of approx. 45 metres in a southerly direction (the start of the existing 30mph speed limit).
Relevant proposal documents may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP. A Flax Close, Oakley
(i) On both sides of the road, from its junction with Station Road for a distance of approx. 4.5 metres in a westerly direction (to the start of the Private Road).
B Reynes Drive, Oakley
(i) On its northern side, from its junction with Station Road for a distance of approx. 16 metres in a westerly direction.
(ii) On its southern side, from its junction with Station Road for a distance of approx. 23 metres in a westerly direction.
C Station Road, Oakley
(i) On its western kerb, from the centre of Flax Close for a distance of approx. 12.5 metres in both a northerly and southerly direction.
(ii) On its western kerb, from the centre of Reynes Drive for a distance of approx. 14 metres in both a northerly and southerly direction.
