What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

(HIGH ROAD AND STATION ROAD, DAGENHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022

NOTICE OF MAKING

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that In order to facilitate manhole cover replacement works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has made a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Sunday 7 April 2024. The works expected for:

* Manhole cover replacement works to take 1 day to complete. Completion date estimated as Sunday 7 April 2024 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 9.00pm and 11.00pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:-

* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on High Road, westbound carriageway, from a point 4.8 metres east its junction with Station Road for a distance of 17.6 metres in a westerly direction.

* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Station Road, both sides, from its junction with High Road for a distance of 15.9 metres in a southerly direction.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

* For local traffic

* Via High Road, Birchdale Gardens, Cedar Park Gardens, Wangey Road, High Road, St. Chad's Road, Eric Road, Eustace Road and Dairy Mews.

* For through traffic

* Via High Road, Whalebone Lane South, Selinas Lane, Freshwater Road, Valence Avenue, Green Lane (A1083), Goodmayes Road (B177).

5. When this closure is in place the following locations will temporarily be controlled by:

* 2-way traffic light signals on High Road, from a point 24.5 metres west of its junction with Station Road for a distance of 43 metres in an easterly direction.

* 2-way signalled controlled pedestrian crossing on High Road, at a point 6.8 metres east of its junction with Station Road.
