Earlsbrook Road (D1270) Redhill
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 06 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Earlsbrook Road (D1270) Redhill.
This Order will be carried out in 2 phases to facilitate mains water replacement works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 9 months between the hours of 8am and 5pm during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 March 2024.
Phase (1) Earlsbrook Road (D1270) Redhill as extends from its junction with (C222) Hooley Lane to its junction with (D1270) St Johns Road. Alternative Route: Hooley Lane and St Johns Road, or this route in reverse; Phase (2) Earlsbrook Road (D1270) Redhill as extends from its junction with (D1270) St Johns Road to its junction with (X68738) Station Approach East.
Alternative Route: St Johns Road and Brambletye Park Road, or this route in reverse. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Salisbury Road (D1068) Banstead
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting Loading and Unloading Order 2024
On 06 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles on both sides of the carriageway in that length of Salisbury Road (D1068) Banstead as extends from its junction with (D1068) Buff Avenue to a point in line with the common boundary between No.09 and No.13 Salisbury Road.
This Temporary Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 weeks during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 18 March 2024.
This temporary restriction, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs.
Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
Tandridge Hill Lane (C73) Godstone
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 06 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Tandridge Hill Lane (C73) Godstone.
Alternative Route: (A25) Oxted Road, (C72) Flower Lane, (C72) Gangers Hill, or this route in reverse. (N.B Width Restriction 6’6“).
This Order is required to facilitate bridge joint inspection works for, or on behalf of National Highways. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 nights between the hours of 9pm and 5am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 March 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the diversion route.
Station Road (C57) Betchworth, Dorking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Station Road (C57) Betchworth, Dorking which extends from its junction with Reigate Road (A25) to the northern property boundary line of “Springfield Cottage”.
Alternative Route – Old Reigate Road (D309) and Reigate Road (A25) or the same route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 days, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 March 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, emergency vehicles, residents and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Ruckmans Lane (D293) Dorking
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ruckmans Lane (D293) Dorking as extends from its junction with (X68505) Ruckmans Lane to its junction with (A29) Stane Street.
Alternative Route: (A29) Stane Street, Okewood Hill, and Ruckmans Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to carry out new water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between 8.30am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 April 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Markedge Lane (D1157) Merstham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Markedge Lane D1157 Merstham as extends from its junction with D1158 Harps Oak Lane to its junction with the access to the property known as “Lodge Farm”; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Markedge Lane (D1157) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice.
Alternative Route: Harps Oak Lane, A23 London Road North, Gatton Bottom, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to carry out telecom utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 03 April 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
West Road (B2034) and Lesbourne Road (B2034) Reigate
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting Loading and Unloading Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles on both sides of the carriageway in that length of; (a) West Road (B2034) Reigate as extends from its junction with (B2034) Lesbourne Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.8 and No.10 West Road; (b) Lesbourne Road (B2034) Reigate as extends from its junction with (B2034) West Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.40 and No.42 Lesbourne Road.
This Temporary Order is required to facilitate utility and excavation works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 12 April 2024.
This temporary restriction will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs. Various Roads in Tandridge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to facilitate developmental works for, or on behalf of McNicholas Construction Services Ltd.
These works will be carried out over 3 phases.
Phase 1: will be carried out over 5 days; Phase 2: will be carried out over 18 days; and Phase 3: will be carried out over 6 days, all between the hours of 7am and 7pm within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 April 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates, if necessary, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Schedule
(1) that length of Tandridge Lane (C83) Tandridge as extends from its junction with (D419) Crowhurst Lane End to its junction with (C86) Mile Lane. Alternative Route: Miles Lane, (A22) Eastbourne Road, (B2029) The Common, and Tandridge Lane, or this route in reverse.
(2) the entire length of Caterfield Lane (D408) Oxted.
Alternative Route: Pikes Lane, Crowhurst Lane, Haxted Road, and Dwelly Lane, or this route in reverse.
(3) that length of Tilburstow Hill Road (D395) South Godstone as extends from its junction with (X34168) Terracotta Road to its junction with the access to the property known as “Rosedene”.
Alternative Route: Tilburstow Hill Road, (A22) Eastbourne Road, and (B2236) Eastbourne Road, or this route in reverse.
Weare Street (D293) Capel
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Weare Street (D293) Capel as extends from its junction with (B2126) Coles Lane and to a point in line with the southern boundary to the property known as “Russets”.
Alternative Route: (D293) Weare Street, (A29) Stane Street, and (B2126) Coles Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate highways improvement and/or major highway maintenance works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 03 April 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.
Court Road (D1426) and Park Road (D1426) Caterham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Court Road (D1426) Caterham as extends from its junction with (D1426) Birch Avenue to its junction with (D1426) Poplar Walk. Alternative Route: Court Road, (B2031) Chaldon Road, (B2030) High Street, and Court Road, or this route in reverse. (b) Park Road (D1426) Caterham as extends from its junction with (B2031) Chaldon Road to its junction with (D1426) Poplar Walk.
Alternative Route:
(B2031) Chaldon Road, (B2030) High Street, and Park
Road.
This Order is required to facilitate renewal of drainage system works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 08 April 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Public Footpath 153 (Capel) and Public Footpath 153 (Ockley)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 1 March 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 153 (Capel) and Public Footpath 153 (Ockley) which extends for about 780 metres from its junction with Public Footpath 238 (Capel) (Grid ref: 517064 142871) to its junction with Public Footpath 590 (Capel) (Grid ref: 516391 143120).
The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to a level crossing in need of repair.
The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 15 March 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
Suggested alternative route: from the junction of Public Footpath 153 (Capel) and Public Footpath 238 (Capel), proceed north and then slightly north-west along Public Footpath 238 (Capel) for about 990 metres, then west along Public Bridleway 234 (Capel) for about 140 metres, and then south-west for about 870 metres along Public Footpath 590 (Capel), to its junction with Public Footpath 153 (Capel). Total length of alternative route is about 2000 metres.
The alternative route for traffic from point B will be the reverse of the route described above.
The “Surrey County Council Public Footpath 153 (Capel) and Public Footopath 153 (Ockley) Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024” was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
