Cheap Street - Temporary Closure Gigaclear Safe Access To Install Track And Chambers
What is happening?
Temporary Closure of Cheap Street, Sherborne
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Cheap Street, Sherborne between Hound Street and Long Street (in both directions), a distance of approximately 100 metres. Please note although these dates coincide with the dates of the road closure on Hound Street both roads will not be closed at the same time. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 18th March 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 March 2024
This Order will enable Gigaclear safe access to install track and chambers.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using A30, B3145, A352 and vice versa.

Temporary Closure of Hound Street, Sherborne

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Hound Street, Sherborne in two seperate phases as described: [i] Hound Street from the junction with Cheep Street to the junction with Hound Street Car Park Entrance; [ii] Cheap Street from Sherborne Library to Newbury. Please note although these dates coincide with the dates of the road closure on Cheap Street both roads will not be closed at the same time. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 18th March 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 March 2024

Temporary Closure of Glue Hill, Sturminster Newton
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Glue Hill, Sturminster Newton from junction with A357 to Rivers Corner (in both directions), a distance of approximately 830 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 18 March 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17 May 2024
This Order will enable SGN safe access to replace a Gas main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using A357, A3030, B3143, C34, C20 and vice versa.

The above Order, made on 27 October 2023, if confi rmed as made, will modify the defi nitive map and statement for the area by upgrading: Bridleway 8, Turnworth: From Bridleway 14, Okeford Fitzpaine at ST 80440875, north east along a crushed stone track to ST 80560888, east north east to its junction with Footpath 57 at ST 80750897, continuing north east between farm buildings at ST 81000919, then continuing north east east along the south boundary of the Okeford Hill car park and picnic site to its junction with the C32 County Road at ST 81250932. (No recorded width)

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs may itself confi rm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
