Watford Way, Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders Due To Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A41 GLA ROAD (WATFORD WAY, LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, BANNED TURNS AND STOPPING) ORDER 2024

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above-named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

2. The purpose of the Order is to enable gully cleaning, CCT survey and resurfacing works to take place on the A41 Watford Way.

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

(1) turning right into The Burroughs from Watford Way;

(2) turning right into Station Road from Watford Way;

(3) entering, exiting or proceeding on The Burroughs between its junction with Watford Way and the north-eastern building line of No. 1 to 8 Quadrant Close, The Burroughs;

(4) entering or proceeding on the underpass which connects the southbound carriageway of Watford Way with Colindeep Lane;

(5) stopping on the south-western side of Watford Way between its junction with Rundell Crescent and No.25 Watford Way;

(6) stopping on the north-eastern side Watford Way between its junctions with Queen's Road and Prothero Gardens;

This Order also suspends the north-east bound bus lanes on Watford Way between its junctions with Prothero Gardens and Queen's Road.

The Order will be effective between 7th March 2024 and 7th September 2024 every night from 10:00 PM to 05:00 AM or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

4. The prohibitions will not apply to any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes, or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

5. At such times as the prohibitions are in force alternative routes will be indicated by traffic signs via:(for Station Road and The Burroughs via Watford Way, Colindeep Lane, Edgware Road, Station Road, Hendon Way: (for Watford Way off slip road closure via Watford Way, Great North Way, Finchley Lane, Church Road, The Burroughs): (for Watford Way Road closure via Station Road, Hendon Way, North Circular Road, Edgware Road): (for the bus suspension via Station Road, Hendon Way, North Circular Road, Edgware Road): and then to normal route of travel.
