Gravesham, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

GRAVESHAM AREA

A226 Bath Street/Darnley Road/New Road, Gravesend, DA11 0RU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of resurfacing works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A226 Bath Street/Darnley Road/New Road, Gravesend, on or after 11th March 2024 for up to 6 nights between 20.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

A226 Bath Street will be closed for the entire length.

A226 Darnley Road will be closed at the junction with A226 New Road.

A226 New Road will be closed at the junction with A226 Bath Street.

A226 Bath Street – The diversion should be A226 Overcliffe, A226 London Road, A226 Thames Way, Thames Way, and the B256 West Street.

A226 Darnley Road – The road will be closed from Rathmore Road for vehicles approaching the A226 Darley Road. The diversion route will need to be via the A226 Darnley Road, Darnley Road, Pelham Road, B261 Old Road West, B261 Dover Road East, B261 Dover Road, B261 Rosherville Way, A226 Thames Way, A226 London Road, A226 Overcliffe, B256 Stuart Road and the B256 West Street.

A226 New Road – The diversion will be via; From the junction with the A226 Darnley Road via the A226 Darnley Road, A226 Bath Street, B256 West Street, Thames Way, A226 London Road and the A226 Overcliffe. From the junction of the B256 Stuart Road via the B256 Stuart Road and the B256 West Street.

 

A226 Rochester Road, Gravesend, DA12 2QZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of the installation of a toucan crossing, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A226 Rochester Road, Gravesend, from 30th March 2024 to 14th April 2024 between 19.30hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Empress Road and Denton Court Road.

Fixed Closure between: Denton Court Road and Empress Road.

No Through Traffic: from Harmer Street to Empress Road and B261 Old Rd East Roundabout to Denton Court Road.

Diversion: (West Travel) – B261 Old Road East, B261 Old Road West, A227 Wrotham Road, A226 Rathmore Road, A226 Darnley Road, A226 Bath Street, A226 West Street, A226 Crooked Lane, A226 The Terrace and A226 Harmer Street.

(East Travel) - A226 Milton Road, A226 Parrock Street, A226 Lord Street, A226 Windmill Street, A226 Woodville Place, A227 Wrotham Road, B261 Old Road West and B261 Old Road East.

 

David Street, Meopham, DA13 0BT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of David Street, Meopham, on or after 11th March 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Oakdene.

The alternative route is via David Street, Whitehill Road, The Street, A227 Wrotham Road/Gravesend Road, Harvel Road, Harvel Lane and vice versa.

 

Pear Tree Lane, Shorne, DA12 3JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pear Tree Lane, Shorne, on or after 25th March 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside St Margaret’s.

The alternative route is via Pear Tree Lane, A226 Gravesend Road, Forge Lane, The Street, Tanyard Hill, Woodlands Lane and vice versa.

 

Shrubbery Road, Gravesend, DA12 1JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of drainage improvement works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Shrubbery Road, Gravesend, on or after 11th March 2024 for up to 10 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at junction with South Hill Road, including outside No 9.

The alternative route is via Shrubbery Road, Clarence Place, Parrock Road, Leith Park Road, Sandy Bank Road, Hillside Terrace, South Hill Road and vice versa.

 

VARIOUS ROADS, GRAVESHAM (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of works by Southern Water, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic as per the below.

A227 WROTHAM ROAD – OUTSIDE 211
2/4/2024 – 9/4/2024
The diversion is via B261 Old Road West, Singlewell Road, Cross Lane West, A227 Wrotham Road and vice versa.

BURCH ROAD, NORTHFLEET– OUTSIDE 61
08/04/2024 to 12/04/2024
The diversion is via Pier Road, Cross Road and vice versa.

ESSEX ROAD – OUTSIDE 43
15/04/2024 TO 19/04/2024
The diversion is via Essex Road, A227 Wrotham Road, Kent Road, Darnley Road and vice versa.

PINE AVENUE – OUTSIDE 56
16/04/2024 TO 25/04/2024
The diversion is via Milton Hall Road, Milton Avenue, B261 Old Road East, Pine Avenue and vice versa.

CROSS LANE EAST - OUTSIDE 11

HAMERTON ROAD – R/O 41 STONEBRIDGE ROAD

The diversion is via B2175 Stonebridge Road, Station Road and vice versa.

DARNLEY STREET – OUTSIDE 59
22/05/2024 to 28/05/2024
The diversion from the junction of the A227 Wrotham Road is via A227 Wrotham Road, A226 Rathmore Road, Darnley Road, Arthur Street, Brandon Street. The one-way order on Darnley Street between the junction of the A227 Wrotham Road and Brandon Street will be suspended to allow access either side of the closure point.

LOWER HIGHAM ROAD – OUTSIDE 51A

The diversion is via A226 Rochester Road, Chalk Road, Lower Higham Road and vice versa.
