UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(GABLES WAY, THATCHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Gables Way in the Town of Thatcham between its junction with Goddards Road and its junction with Colthrop Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Colthrop Lane, Bath Road, and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Vodafone to install a new telecoms pole. The proposed Order will come into effect on 4th March 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between the hours of 08.00 to 17.00 on 6th March 2024.
(SPEEN LANE, SPEEN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Speen Lane in the Parish of Speen between its junction with Speen Place and its junction with Pound Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Bath Road, Old Bath Road, and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for SGN to upgrade the service connection.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 4th March 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 4th and 8th March 2024.
(WOOLHAMPTON FOOTPATH 10, WOOLHAMPTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any use of the following footpath, namely Woolhampton Footpath 10 in Woolhampton, between its junction with A4 Bath Road and its junction with Woolhampton Footpath 12. The alternative route for all pedestrians affected by the Order is via Bath Road, Frouds Lane, Woolhampton Footpath 12 and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable Network Rail to remove, inspect and replace UWC on Wickham Knights Level Crossing. The proposed Order will come into effect on 4th March 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in
place between 22:50 hours on 5th March 2024 and 05:05 hours on 8th March 2024. The Order shall remain in force for a period of six months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest.
(GOOSE GREEN, LAMBOURN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Goose Green in the Town of Lambourn between its junction with Big Lane and its junction with Walkers Lane.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Walkers Lane, Oxford Street,
The Broadway, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out maintenance and repair works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 18th March 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 18th and 20th March 2024.
(LOWER WAY, THATCHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Lower Way in Thatcham between its junction with Glebelands and its junction with Paynesdown Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Lower Way, Pound Lane, A4 Bath Road, A4 Chapel Street, The Moors, Lower Way and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for the installation of new gas and electric connections.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 15th March 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 18th March and 22nd March 2024.
(HERMITAGE ROAD, COLD ASH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Hermitage Road in Cold Ash between its junction with Slanting Hill and its junction with Fishers Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Red Shute Hill, B4009 Long Lane, B4009 Shaw Hill, Kiln Road, Tull Way, Bowling Green Road, Heath Lane, Cold Ash Hill, Hermitage Road and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Openreach safe access to boxes and desilt required.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 15th March 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 09:30 and 15:30 hours each day on 18th and 19th March 2024.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
