Eastern Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Eastern Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.33) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 16th March 2024 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
EASTERN ROAD (SOUTHBOUND)
From its junction with Eastern Road Roundabout to its junction with Anchorage Road.
B) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION
ANCHORAGE ROAD
From its junction with Williams Road to its junction with Robinson Way.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate sewer repair works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 16th March 2024 to 3rd of May 2024 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Eastern Road Roundabout, A27, Portsbridge Roundabout, London Road, York Terrace, Copnor Road, Norway Road, Anchorage Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained on the east side footway, westside footway is closed from Anchorage Road to Eastern Road Roundabout.
Cycles to follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
