What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
BURNABY ROAD, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a
temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to
prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading,
entering or proceeding on Burnaby Road from number
73 Burnaby Road and continuing to 103 Burnaby Road.
The Order will come into effect at 18:00 hours on
Friday 1st March 2024 and is required to enable the
safe repair of a manhole cover and frame on the said
length of road.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18)
months or until the said works are completed,
whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be
completed by 6:00 hours on Saturday 2nd March 2024.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage
indicates on site.
Diversion (s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed
on site.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform or civil
enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles
and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an
emergency for that vehicle to have access to part
of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the
execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to Burnaby Road, Coventry.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction
imposed by the Order may be removed under the
provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles
Regulations 1986.

WOODSIDE AVENUE SOUTH, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make
a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to
prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading,
entering or proceeding on Woodside Avenue South
on that part commencing outside number 118 and
continuing to number 138.
The Order would come into effect from 00.01 hours on
Monday 11th March 2024 and is required to enable
Severn Trent Water Limited to complete water
connections to properties safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18)
months or until the said works are completed,
whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will
be completed by Tuesday 19th March 2024.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage
indicates on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform or civil
enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles
and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an
emergency for that vehicle to have access to part
of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

LOWTHER STREET, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make
a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to
prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading,
entering or proceeding on Lowther Street between
number 13 and number 27 Lowther Street.
The Order would come into effect from 08:00 hours on
Tuesday 12th March 2024 and is required to enable
repair works to a comms pipe to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18)
months or until the said works are completed,
whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be
completed by 18:00 hours on Friday 15th March 2024.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage
indicates on site.
Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic will be as signed on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform or civil
enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles

NOTICE OF MAKING
Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council
(“the Council”), under the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 (as amended), has made the following Traffic
Regulation Order (“the Order”), which comes into
operation on 1st March 2024:-
City of Coventry (Citywide) (Permitted Parking Area
and Special Parking Area) (Designation, Waiting
Restrictions, Loading Restrictions, Loading Areas
and Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order
2016 – (Variation 12) Order 2024
The effect of the Order will be to:-
i) extend two existing residents’ parking schemes:
• Zone C3 – Queen Isabel’s Avenue (extension
of existing scheme); and
• Zone EW1- Crabmill Lane (extension of existing
scheme)
ii) add to, vary or amend the waiting restrictions on
certain lengths of the following roads: -
Albany Rd, Barlow Rd, Beech Tree Ave, Bennett’s Rd
South, Blenheim Ave, Brighton St, Briscoe Rd,
Chaceley Cl, Calder Cl, Cecily Rd, Clovelly Rd,
Cobden St, Coundon Rd, Court Leet Rd, Coventry St,
Crabmill La, Crosbie Rd, Croydon Cl, Dallington Rd,
Delhi Ave, Denbigh Rd, Dillotford Ave, Dingle Cl,
Dutton Rd, Durbar Ave, Eastern Green Rd, Farcroft
Ave, Fenside Ave, Fenton Rd, Finbarr Cl, Firedrake
Croft, Forfield Rd, Frank Pledge Rd, Gaveston Rd,
Gorseway, Gospel Oak Rd, Grangemouth Rd, Green

The Council originally advertised the Order on
7th September 2023. A number of objections were
received to the making of the Order and following due
consideration of the same by the Cabinet Member for
City Services at the public meeting of 4th December
2023, the decision was reached to make the following
changes upon making the Order:-

When originally advertised the title of the Order (as
proposed) was City of Coventry (Citywide) (Permitted
Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (Designation,
Waiting Restrictions, Loading Restrictions, Loading
Areas and Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order
2016 – (Variation 12) Order 2023. The title has since
been changed to that set out above.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the
Order or any of the provisions on the grounds that
they are not within the powers conferred by the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or that any
requirement of that Act or of any regulation made
thereunder, or of any relevant Act, has not been
complied with may, within six weeks from today’s
date, make application for the purpose to the
High Court.

CHEYLESMORE, ST PATRICKS ROAD,
NEW UNION STREET AND FRIARS ROAD,
COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make
a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to
prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading,
entering or proceeding on the said roads as detailed
in the Schedule.
The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on
Monday 11th March 2024 and is required to facilitate
the safe demolition of New Union Street Car Park.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18)
months or until the said works are completed,
whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works
would be completed by Friday 5th April 2024.

to exit onto new Union Street from the junction
of Cheylesmore to New Union Street.
Ban on Turning
• No right turn out of Cheylesmore onto Friars Road
• No left turn out of Manor house Drive onto Friars road
There would be a gap of one week in between phases
1 and 2 without any traffic management.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage
indicates on site.
Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed
on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform or civil
enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles
and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an
