What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
ELTON ROAD, BELTHORN, HYNDBURN BOROUGH - GRANE ROAD, HASLINGDEN, ROSSENDALE BOROUGH (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Elton Road, Belthorn and Grane Road, Haslingden, from the boundary with Blackburn to the junction with Holcombe Road

2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying 
out of the works.

3. The prohibition will be operative daily from 0930 hours to 1500 hours on 25th March 2024 until 28th March 2024 and then from 2nd April 2024 until 19th April 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.

The prohibition will not be in place over Easter weekend from 29th March 2024 until 1st April 2024.

4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Deardengate - Blackburn Road - Hud Hey Road - Haslingden Road - Lottice Lane - School Lane - Haslingden Road - Guide Interchange - Haslingden Road - Elton Road and vice versa.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow Surface Dressing Patching Works to be carried out by Lancashire County Council.
