Various Roads in the District of Mole Valley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024
On 28 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 of the Act the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of road described in the Schedule to this Notice. This Notice is required to facilitate urgent and essential gas mains replacement work for, or on behalf of SGN within the length of roads described in this notice. This Temporary Traffic Order commences on 05 March 2024 and continues in force the provisions introduced by “The Surrey County Council Eastwick Road (D2549), Crabtree Lane (D2546), Flint Close (D2565), and Leatherhead Road (D2503), Bookham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2024” issued under Section 14(2) of the Act on 14 February 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Schedule
(a) That length of Eastwick Road (D2549) Bookham as extends from its junction with (A246) Leatherhead Road and for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction. Alternative Route: Lower Road, The Lorne, Hawkwood Rise, (A246) Guildford Road, and (A246) Leatherhead Road, or this route in reverse.
(b) That length of Crabtree Lane (D2546) Bookham as extends from the junction with (A246) Leatherhead Road and for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction. Alternative Route: (A246) Leatherhead Road, Downs Way, and Blackthorne Road, or this route in reverse.
(c) That length Flint Close (D2565) Bookham as extends from its junction with (A246) Leatherhead Road and for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction. Alternative Route: South End, (D2503) Leatherhead Road and (A246) Leatherhead Road, or this route in reverse.
(d) That length of Leatherhead Road (D2503) Bookham as extends from the junction with (A246) Leatherhead Road and for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction. Alternative route: (A246) Leatherhead Road.
Partridge Mead (D1006) and Parkwood Road (D1006) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 28 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Partridge Mead (D1006) Banstead as extends from its junction with (D1006) Parkwood Road to its junction with (D1004) Parsonsfield Road.
Alternative Route: Partridge Mead, Nork Way, and Roundwood Way, or this route in reverse; and (b) Parkwood Road (D1006) Banstead as extends from its junction with (D1006) Partridge Mead to its junction with (D1006) Parkwood Close. Alternative Route: Parkwood View, Nork Way, and Partridge Mead, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate highways/footways safety improvement works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 18- month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 March 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Kings Mill Lane (D355) South Nutfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 28 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Kings Mill Lane (D355) South Nutfield as extends from its junction with the boundary of the property known as “Flint Cottage” to its junction with the access to the property known as “Staplehurst Farm”. Alternative Route: Kings Cross Lane, Crab Hill Lane, Moats Lane, Prince of Wales Road, Green Lane, Axes Lane, Masons Bridge Road, Kings Mill Lane (Redhill), and Kings Mill Lane (South Nutfield), or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 13 March 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Cannon Way Townpath (T8023) Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in that length of Cannon Way Townpath (T8023) Fetcham as extends from its junction with (D2527) Cannon Way to its junction with (D2566) Mole Road. Alternative Route: Mole Road, River Lane, Cobham Road, and Pound Crescent, or this route in reverse. This Order, which will commence on 28 March 2024 for a period of 6 months is required to facilitate detailed bridge inspection works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night between the hours of 9pm and 5am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Salmons Lane (D1388) Whyteleafe Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding that length of Salmons Lane (D1388) Whyteleafe as extends from its junction with (A22) Godstone Road to its junction with (X35195) The Avenue. Alternative Route – Salmons Lane; Whyteleafe Hill; and A22 Godstone Road or this same route in reverse. This 18-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 31 March 2024 is required to facilitate level crossing renewal works and/or general maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Network Rail within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 nights between the hours of 2am and 4am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times by operatives on site.

Footpath 160 (Bletchingley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 22 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Footpath 160 (Bletchingley) from its junction with Footpath 627 (Bletchingley) at O.S.Grid Reference 532090 152677 in an easterly turning to south westerly direction for a distance of 711 metres to its junction with Footpath 629 (Bletchingley) at O.S.Grid Reference 531982 152136.
The Order is necessary in order to complete mineral extraction and restoration of the development for which planning permission has been granted (TA2020/434 & RE20/00463/CON) whilst protecting the health and safety of members of the public. The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 1 March 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the northern end of closure will be: proceed west along Footpath 627 for 179 metres, then south west for 471 metres along Footpath 162 and Footpath 161, then continue east, then south, then south east along Footpath 629 for 701 metres.
The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
