Sacriston, Temporary Closures Due To Installation Works

What is happening?

The County Council of Durham (Charlaw Close, Lingey Close, Coniston Drive, Rydal Close, Derwent Close, Sacriston) (Temporary Road and Footpath Closure) Order 2024

The Council on 23/2/24 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road and footpath in Sacriston: Temporary Road Closures Charlaw Close/Lingey Close - a 38 metre length from no.33 to the side of no.31 and also; a 16 metre length extending to the frontage of no.30 Lingey Close; a 70 metre length between nos.8 and 23 Coniston Drive - a 174 metre length extending southwards from its junction with Acorn Close Derwent Close - a 80 metre length that extends west from Coniston Drive Temporary Footpath Closures Charlaw Close / Lingey Close - a 62 metre length that extends north from opposite no.31 Charlaw Close to the junction with Lingey Close / Acorn Close Lane; a 30 metre length of footpath between nos.10-11 Lingey Close from Charlaw Close toward Front Street Coniston Drive/Rydal Close - a 160 metre length between nos.1-16 extending south and west from its junction with Acorn Close; a 135 metre length extending between side no.17 to no.4 Rydal Close then northerly and easterly to no.24; a 12 metre length extending east to the rear of no.23, a 40 metre length between nos.17-22; a 40 metre length extending south, west and south between nos.30-25 Rydal Close - a 110 metre length between nos.9 and 15 Derwent Close - a 112 metre length from side no.29 to no.22; a 47 metre length between nos.29-34; a 148 metre length between nos.21 and side no.9 (to the junction with Acorn Close); a 74 metre length extending to the eastern side of nos.9-6, then westerly to no.14 and south and west to side no.15 to enable new telecom infrastructure installation works to be undertaken. Alternative routes, where available, will signed on site as required. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 4/3/24 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
