What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BARNSLEY

(UN-NAMED ACCESS ROAD TO DARTON PRIMARY SCHOOL DARTON 

(EXPERIMENTAL TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that on 26th February 2024 Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council made the above-named Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended). The effect of the Order is to replace some of the existing no waiting at any time restrictions on the south east and south west sides of the un-named access road to the Darton Primary School with no waiting 8 am to 9.30 am and 2.30 pm to 5 pm on Mondays to Fridays only.

The Order will come into effect on 8th March 2024 for a trial period of up to 18 months during which time the Council will assess the effectiveness of the restrictions and will monitor their impact on other roads in the area. It will then consider whether the measures should be continued in force permanently.

If you wish to object to any of the restrictions being introduced on a permanent basis or make any other representations you should submit them in writing, stating the grounds, by e-mail to trofeedback@barnsley.gov.uk or by post to the Head of Transport & Highways (Traffic Management) PO Box 601 Barnsley S70 9FA within six months of the date of the Experimental Order coming into force or six months of the date that the Order is modified.

If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
