(Berechurch Hall Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Berechurch Hall Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Layer Road to its junction with Mersea Road a distance of approximately 2750m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th March 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2354952 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Mersea Road, St Botolphs Circus, Southway Westbound, Maldon Road Roundabout, Maldon Road, Drury Road, Layer Road or Layer Road, Butt Road, Southway Eastbound, St Botolphs Circus, Mersea Road.

The Order will come into effect on 7th March 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Newbridge Hill, West Bergholt) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Newbridge Hill, West Bergholt in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Chapel Road to its junction with Bourne Road a distance of approximately 115m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22 March 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2361938 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Chapel Road, Queens Road, Bourne Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 7th March 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bergholt Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bergholt Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 120m north west of its junction with North Station Roundabout for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th March 2024 for 1 night (19:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03162422040 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial reinstatement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via A134, A131 or B1115, A131, A134 (with access only into B1508).

(Colchester Road, Salcott) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Colchester Road, Salcott in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 55m north east of Barnhall Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th March 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03162742215/2 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while chamber repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via South Street, Kelvedon Road, Oxley Hill, D'arcy Road, Factory Hill, Church Road, Maypole Road, Colchester Road, Maldon Road, Maldon Road South, Shrub End Road Roundabout, Shrub End Road, Drury Road and vice versa (with access only into Layer Road, High Road, Church Road, Colchester Road, Whitehouse Hill, Station Road, North Street).

The Order came into effect on 22nd February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Compton Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Compton Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Ipswich Road to its junction with St Annes Road a distance of approximately 95m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th March 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2360598 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Ipswich Road, Dilbridge Road West, Fairhead Road South, Compton Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 22nd February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Gutteridge Hall Lane, Weeley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Gutteridge Hall Lane, Weeley in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 390m south west of its junction with Clacton Road for a distance of approximately 115m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th March 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008OGEA74638499 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Openreach.

(Hythe Quay, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hythe Quay, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Hythe Quay Roundabout to its junction with Hythe Hill a distance of approximately 70m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th March 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30000569163 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while surface reinstatement works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Hythe Quay Roundabout, Hythe Quay, Haven Road Roundabout, Colne Causeway, Hawkins Road Roundabout, Hawkins Road, Hythe Station Road, New Hythe Bridge and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 22nd February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Marsh Crescent, Rowhedge & Rowhedge Road, Rowhedge/ Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Marsh Crescent, Rowhedge & Rowhedge Road, Rowhedge/Colchester in the City of Colchester, from the junction with Fingringhoe Road to the junction with Head Street a distance approximately 1790m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th March 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2358891 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Fingringhoe Road, Rectory Road, Head Street and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 22nd February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Nightingale Hill, Langham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nightingale Hill, Langham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 670m north east then north west of its junction with Perry Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th March 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WC8TJP7K - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Nightingale Hill, Grove Hill, School Road, Greyhound Hill, Dedham Road, Rectory Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 22nd February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Osborne Street, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Osborne Street, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Stanwell Street to its junction with Whitewell Road a distance of approximately 20m.

2. To temporarily suspend the bus lane on Osborne Street, Colchester, from its junction with Stanwell Street - south eastwards for a distance of 20 metres as stated in 'The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Colchester) (Temporary Suspension of Prohibition of Right-Hand Turn, One Way, Reserved Bus Lane & Permitted Parking Areas) Order 2013' for the duration of the above closure only.

3. To temporarily introduce a 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' in the above length of road from its junction with Vineyard Gate to its junction with St Botolphs Street a distance of approximately 190m for the duration of the closure only.

"The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/suspension/restriction is scheduled to commence on 11th March 2024 for 13 nights (20:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2357971 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route for non-HGVs is available via Stanwell Street, Southway Eastbound, St Botolphs Circus, Southway Westbound, Headgate, St Johns Street, Osborne Street or St John's Street, Crouch Street, Balkerne Hill Southbound, Southway Eastbound, St Botolphs Circus, St Botolphs Street, Osborne Street.

An alternative route for buses is available via Stanwell Street, Southway Eastbound, St Botolphs Circus, Southway Westbound, Headgate.

The Order came into effect on 22nd February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(St Leonards Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Leonards Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Hythe Hill for a distance of approximately 50m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th March 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008FBA1490K - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Hythe Hill, Standard Road, St Leonards Road and vice versa.

(Straight Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Straight Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 50m north west of its junction with Garden Drive for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th March 2024 for 1 night (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010747276/1 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via London Road, Lexden Road, Southway Eastbound, Maldon Road Roundabout, Maldon Road, Shrub End Road or Shrub End Road, Drury Road, Butt Road, Southway Westbound, Maldon Road Roundabout, Southway Westbound, Lexden Road, London Road (with access only into Straight Road).

The Order came into effect on 22nd February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Temporary Introduction of a Clearway & Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit) Order (No.4) 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in those lengths of road as specified in the schedule.

3. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road and those in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 22nd February 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
