ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2023

CAVENDISH STREET, BEDFORD 23-144

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Cavendish Street Bedford.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriageway repairs and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 09:00 to 15:30 hours from 12th March 2024 to 14th March 2024

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Queen Street, Tavistock Street, The Broadway, Foster Hill Road.

The reverse route applies.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 12th March 2024, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Bedford Borough Council Tel: 01234 718003.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough

Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycleway in Dame Alice Street, and Harpur Street Bedford.

These temporary footway and cycleway closure(s) are required for the safety of the public and workforce while alterations are carried out on the cycle lanes, works will be carried out in phases and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

These temporary footway/cycleway closure(s) are anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 25th March 2024 to 6th May 2024

Pedestrians and Cyclists affected by the proposed Order should follow the diversion route as appropriate indicated on site.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough

Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, from proceeding along Spring Lane Stagsden outside Spring Cottage.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate a new water supply and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 25th March 2024 to 29th March 2024

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO

FORMALISE AN EXISTING DISABLED PERSONS PARKING BAY IN ST MARYS ROAD, WOOTTON.

Reason for Proposal:

Bedford Borough Council has received a request to formalise an existing disabled persons parking bay in St Marys Road, Wootton. The formalisation will help discourage abuse of the bay by enabling strict enforcement of its parking restrictions. There will be no time limit for the disabled parking bay.

Effect of the Order:

1. To formalise an existing disabled persons parking bay at the following location:

A   St Marys Road, Wootton

(i) In front of property no. 6 St Marys Road, Wootton.

Relevant proposal documents are available for viewing on the council’s website at www.bedford.gov.uk/ proposedtro and may also be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP. The documents will be placed on deposit until 6 weeks after the Order is made or until it is decided not to continue with the proposal. PART OF FOOTPATH No. 7)

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2023

On 15 February 2024 Bedford Borough Council Confirmed the above Order as an unopposed Order under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed will divert that length of Public Footpath numbered 7 in the Parish of Ravensden commencing from where it joins to unaffected part of Footpath 7 Ravensden, approximately 13 metres west of Graze Hill Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0600/5382 shown as Point A on the order map then running in a generally south, south-east direction for approximately 257 metres to a point where it has a junction with the unaffected Public Footpath number 52, Ravensden at OSGR TL 0611/5360 shown as Point B on the Order Map to a route commencing from a point where it joins to unaffected part of Footpath 7, approximately 13 metres west of Graze Hill Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0600/5382 shown as Point A on the order map then running in a generally south-east, west, southeast direction for approximately 280 metres to a point where it has a junction with the unaffected Public Footpath number 52, Ravensden at OSGR TL 0611/5360 shown as Point B on the Order Map.

PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2023

On 18 January 2024 Bedford Borough Council confirmed the above Order as an unopposed Order made under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish that part of Public Footpath number 3 Stewartby that commences from a cul-de-sac at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0240/4174 then running in a generally south east direction for approximately 32 metres to a junction with the unaffected part of Footpath 3, Stewartby at OSGR TL 0242/4172. A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford.
