What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A585 TRUNK ROAD  (AMOUNDERNESS WAY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A585 Trunk Road, in the District of Wyre, in the County of Lancashire, to enable the improvement of pedestrian and cycle facilities, to be carried out in safety.

The Order will ban all pedestrians from:

i. the exit slip road to Morrisons Superstore, from the last point at which it leaves Morrisons Roundabout for a distance of 100 metres;

ii. the footway crossing including the footpath on the A585 Amounderness Way, located at a point 63 metres south of Morrisons Roundabout.

A diversion route for pedestrians will be well signed.

Access for vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.

The bans are expected to be in place during a continuous period, starting at 08:00 on Monday 8 April 2024 and ending at 18:00 on Thursday 23 May 2024. However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods, until completed.

The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 7 April 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information contact sam.smith@highwaysengland.co.uk.
