Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 28 February 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate resurfacing of carriageway and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 4 March 2024. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Schedule
1. the entire length of Barford Lane (D127), Churt. Alternative Route – Churt Road, Glayshers Hill, B3002 Grayshott Road/Headley Road, A333 Portsmouth Road and A287 Tilford Road; 2. that length of Petworth Road (B2131), Haslemere which extends from its junction with A286 High Street to its junction with Killinghurst Lane. Alternative Route – B2131 Petworth Road, A286 Shepherds Hill, A286 Midhurst Road, Bell Road, Haslemere Road, Midhurst Road, A286 Dodsley Lane, A272 Tillington Road/ Station Road/ Haslingbourne Lane, A283 Low Heath/Kingspit Lane/Brinksole Lane/ Horsham Road, A283 London Road and A283 Fisher Street/Cripplecrutch Hill.
Wings Road (D5353) Farnham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Wings Road (D5353) Farnham as extends from its junction with (A3016) Upper Hale Road to its junction with (D5353) Farnham Park Drive. Alternative Route: (A3016) Upper Hale Road, Bishops Road, Hope Lane, and Wings Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of Traffic Control 123 Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 25 March 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
