Public Notices for Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders
The following public notices shall be served on Thursday 29th February 2024:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the below traffic regulation Orders under Sections 14(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
Traffic Regulation Order 1:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (WATLING STREET (PART), BLETCHLEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024 (Reference: TTRO-1918)
The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily close Watling Street, Bletchley (northbound carriageway only) – From its junction with Kelly’s Kitchen Roundabout for a distance of 300 metres in a northerly direction to allow National Highways to carry out LED upgrade works. Whilst the above length of road is closed the alternative route will be via A5, Bletcham Way and Saxon Street (and vice versa).
The above closure will take place between 11th March 2024 and 13th March 2024 (20:00 – 06:00) or until the said works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
Traffic Regulation Order 2:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (REDWAY BW06 BRADWELL AND REDWAY BA02 BRADWELL ABBEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024 (Reference: TTRO-1929)
The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily close Redway BW06, Bradwell and Redway BA02 Bradwell Abbey – Closure of Footbridge under railway line to allow Milton Keynes Council to carry out Replacement of bridge support beams. Whilst the above Redway is closed the alternative route will be via Redway BA02, Redway BA01, Redway BW03, Abbey Road (and vice versa).
The temporary closure will be in effect between 11th March 2024 and 29th March 2024 (24 Hours).
Traffic Regulation Order 3:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS AND FOOTWAYS IN CENTRAL MILTON KEYNES) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024 (Reference: TTRO-1926)
The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily close the following to allow development works and delivery of materials between 10th March 2024 – 10th September 2024: - :
• Parking Access Road adjacent to Secklow Gate – From its junction with the access entrance from Secklow Gate for approximately 54 Meters in a northern direction.
• Parking Access Road adjacent to Avebury Boulevard – for approximately 88 meters to its junction with South 10th Street
• Various Footways around the development site will be closed in the interest of public safety
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the development via signed access routes.
Regulation Order 4:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (SIMPSON ROAD (PART), BLETCHLEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024 (Reference: TTRO-1928)
The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily close Simpson Road, Bletchley– From its junction with Watling Street to its junction with Staple Hall Road to allow National Grid to carry out works for a new supply. Whilst the above length of road is closed the alternative route will be via Watling Street, Bilton Road and Staple Hall Road (and vice versa).
The above closure will take place between 13th March 2024 and 22nd March 2024 (24 hours) or until the said works have been completed.
Regulation Order 5:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS MILTON KEYNES – THE FESTIVAL OF RUNNING EVENT) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024 (Reference: TTRO-1828)
for the purpose of facilitating the holding of a relevant event, namely the annual Milton Keynes Half Marathon and Festival of Running.
The effect of the Order will be as follows: -
1) To temporarily close parts of Avebury Boulevard (including any car parking area access roads where relevant) and Marlborough Gate in Central Milton Keynes, V7 Saxon Street, H6 Childs Way, H7 Chaffron Way, The Spur Road and Golden Drive in Eaglestone, Waterside in Peartree Bridge, Flaxley Gate in Monkston, Colindale Street in Monkston Park and Tanfield Lane, Milton Road and Swanwick Lane in Broughton.
2) To temporarily prohibit right turn manoeuvres on to V7 Saxon Street from its junctions with H6 Childs Way, H7 Chaffron Way and Fulwoods Drive, Leadenhall and to prohibit right turn manoeuvres onto Saxon Street from Avebury Boulevard in Central Milton Keynes.
The temporary closures and right turn bans will be in effect on Sunday 17th March 2024 (between the hours of 9:45am and 2.00pm. The roads will re-open once the runners have passed through.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council has on 27th February 2024 made the following temporary traffic regulation Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
Traffic Regulation Order 6:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (MARSH DRIVE (PART) AND REDWAY GL09 GREAT LINFORD, GREAT LINFORD) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024 (Reference: TTRO-1925)
The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily close Redway GL09, Great Linford (From its junction with Canal Cottage for approximately 30 meters) Whilst the above Redway is closed there will be a closure on Marsh Drive, Great Linford to allow for pedestrian diversion, between 4th March 2024 and 18th March 2024 (24 Hours).
The Council is satisfied that the temporary closure Order is necessary to allow Milton Keynes Council to carry out decking replacement works.
Alternative routes will be provided where possible, which will be clearly signed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Signs Manual.
Traffic Regulation Order 7:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN ASTWOOD, EMBERTON, BLETCHLEY AND LOUGHTON) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024 (Reference: TTRO-1904)
The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily close the following Roads.
Main Road Astwood – From its junction with A422 to its junction with Cranfield Road. 4th March 2024 (Between 9:30am and 4:30pm)
Newton Road, Emberton – From its junction with Honey Hill for approximately 177 meters East. 13th March 2024 – 15th March 2024 (24 Hours)
North Street, Bletchley – From its junction with The Crescent to its junction with Western Road. 25th March 2024 – 27th March 2024 (24 Hours)
Pitcher Lane, Loughton – From its junction with Weldon Rise for approximately 32 meters North. 4th March 2024 – 6th March 2024 (24 Hours)
The Council is satisfied that the temporary closure Order is necessary to allow Anglian water to carry out maintenance and new connection works.
Alternative routes will be provided where possible, which will be clearly signed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Signs Manual.
Traffic Regulation Order 8:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (REDWAY BA01 (PART), BRADWELL ABBEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024 (Reference: TTRO-1932)
The effect of the above Order will be to temporarily close Redway BA01, Bradwell Abbey, from its junction with Alston Drive for 220 metres in a westerly direction. Whilst the above Redway is closed the alternative route will be via Redway BA02, Redway BA03, Redway WY02, Redway TMA01, Redway KF05, Redway HO02 and Redway SB03 (and vice versa).
The Council is satisfied that the temporary closure Order is necessary to allow Global Utility Connections to install ducting for electric charging stations.
Alternative routes will be provided where possible, which will be clearly signed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Signs Manual.

Public Notice for Permanent Traffic Regulation Orders
The following public notice of proposal shall be served on Thursday 29 February 2024:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF MILTON KEYNES) (CENTRAL MILTON KEYNES) (ON-STREET STANDARD TARIFF PARKING PLACES) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2020) VARIATION ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council proposes to make the above Traffic Regulation Order, under sections 45, 46, 49, 53 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The general effect of the above proposed Order will be to introduce the standard tariff parking on part of the south-west side of North Thirteenth Street in Central Milton Keynes and to introduce the R1 residents permit to the existing standard tariff parking on Secklow Gate between Avebury Boulevard and South Row.
Milton Keynes City Council is now carrying out statutory consultation on the above proposal. Details on how to comment and of the proposed Order, together with plans showing the general arrangements and a statement of reason, may be inspected on the Council’s website at: www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/consultations.
Any representations or objections to the proposals, together with the grounds upon which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to the Council’s Highways Department at Milton Keynes City Council, Civic Office, 1 Saxon Gate East, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ, or by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference TRO-382 and to be received no later than 21 March 2024.
Public Notice for Experimental Traffic Regulation Orders
The following public notice of proposal shall be served on Thursday 29 February 2024:
MILTON KEYNES CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BLETCHLEY) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Milton Keynes City Council has on 27 February 2024 made the above Experimental Traffic Order under Sections 9 and 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purposes of carrying out an experimental scheme of parking control for a period of 18 months.
The general effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time restrictions (double yellow lines) along parts of Barton Road and Drayton Road in Bletchley.
The Council is satisfied that the experimental Order is necessary to restrict parking at the entrances to the Blue Lagoon in order to prevent obstruction to vehicles accessing and egressing and to ensure the free passage for emergency service vehicles.
The experimental Order will take effect on 11 March 2024.
A copy of the Experimental Order as made including maps indicating the locations and their effects, together with a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Experimental Order, may be inspected on the Council’s website at: www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/consultations.
The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Experimental Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person wishing to object to the making of the Experimental Order for the purpose of such indefinite continuation should put their objection in writing stating the title of the relevant Order, and the grounds on which the objection is made, and send to the Council’s Traffic Regulation Order Team at the address shown below, or by email to TROteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk quoting reference ETRO-027, to be received within a period of 6 months beginning with the day on which the Experimental Order comes into operation, i.e. to be received by the Council no later than 11 September 2024.
