What is happening?

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
Golden Valley Lane, Bitton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed,
temporarily, to vehicles that length of Golden Valley Lane which extends from a point 100m north east of
Newpit Lane north eastwards for 150m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection
with carriageway chamber desilting works. The order became operative from 4 March 2024 for a
maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the
period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works
which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Alternative
route: Beach Lane, Wick Lane, Brewery Hill, A431 Bath Road, Golden Valley Lane and vice versa
(Dunsdown Lane, West Littleton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles,
Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be
to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Dunsdown
Lane which extends from a point 330m south east of A46 south eastwards for 75m. This order is
required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent
upon stop tap replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from
25 March 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented
for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated
by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration. Alternative route: A46, Middledown Road,
Castle Lane and vice versa

(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 16A
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to –
1. prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding in the lengths of road specified in column 1 of Schedule
1 to this Notice from making a right turn onto the roads specified in column 2 of the said Schedule
between the hours and on the dates specified in column 3 of the said Schedule.
2. close, temporarily, to vehicles, RAGGED CASTLE ROAD, Hawkesbury from A433 Tetbury Road to Holly
Bush Lane, Hawkesbury between 0001 hours and 2359 hours on 11 May 2024.
3. close, temporarily, to pedestrians Footpath LHA/109 Hawkesbury between its junctions with Park Road
and Cherry Orchard Lane between 0600 hours and 1800 hours on 11 May 2024.
4. institute, temporarily, one way traffic working in the lengths of road specified in Column 1 of Schedule
2 to this Notice in the direction indicated in relation to that length of road in Column 2 of the said
Schedule, between the hours and on the dates specified in Column 3 of the said Schedule.
5. prohibit, temporarily, any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour on the
lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice between Midnight on 6 May 2024 and 2359 hours
on 12 May 2024.
6. prohibit, temporarily, any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the
lengths of road specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice between Midnight on 6 May 2024 and 2359 hours
on 12 May 2024.
7. prohibit, temporarily, vehicles waiting at any time in the lengths and sides of road specified in Schedule 6
to this Notice between 0600 hours and 1900 hours on any day between 8 May 2024 and 12 May
2024. Loading/Unloading of goods from vehicles will be permitted.
This order is required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon traffic
congestion and other adverse traffic conditions created by the holding of the Badminton Horse Trials and
will become operative from the 6 May 2024 between the hours and on the dates specified in this Notice.

NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council proposes to make an order under
sections 84(1) and (2) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended the effect of which will be to: a) prohibit the driving of motor vehicles at a speed exceeding
40 miles per hour in lengths of A4018 Cribbs Causeway, Almondsbury; and b) revoke the South
Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads, Cribbs Causeway Area) (40 mph Speed Limit) (50 mph Speed
Limit) Order 1998 in so far as it relates to A4018 Cribbs Causeway, in favour of a) above. Full details

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2021
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on
10 March 2021, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport
until 21 September 2024 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of public footpath
LPU/36/30 at Lyde Green, Emersons Green which extends from a point 166m south east of
Willowherb Road generally south eastwards for 132m. This order was required because of the
likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon works to construct new dwellings and associated
