Highways Notice
NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC –
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Whitchurch
Road, Audlem
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council
in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes
to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily
prohibit traffic.
Prohibition of traffic – Whitchurch Road, Audlem – For the
full extent.
The alternative route will be via Whitchurch Road, Goldsmith
Lane, Baddington Lane, Shrewbridge Road, Park Road, Audlem
Road, Broad Lane, Crewe Road, Cheshire Street, Shropshire
Street and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.
This order will come into operation on 25 March 2024 and will
continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is
necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway,
although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by
12 April 2024.

Public Rights of Way Notice
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF PEDESTRIANS
Public Footpath No. 3 (Part) Parish of Chorley and Public
Footpath No. 5 Parish of Faddiley
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (2)
(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the
Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire
East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will
be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:
That length of Public Footpath No. 3 (part) in the Parish of Chorley
which commences at the junction with Footpath No. 4 Chorley at
OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 5769 5152 and runs in a generally
north easterly direction for approx 321m to OSGR SJ 5791 5176.
That length of Public Footpath No. 5 in the Parish of Faddiley
which commences at the junction with Footpath No. 5 Chorley
at OSGR SJ 5791 5176 and runs in a generally north easterly
direction for approx 561m to OSGR SJ 5931 5214.
The closure is necessary to protect the likelihood of danger to
the public posed by a bridge that was damaged by flooding and
until the bridge is made safe or replaced.
The Order will come into force on 15 February 2024 and
continues the restriction that came into effect on the 30 January
2024 and will continue in force for a period of six months, or
until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
