What is happening?

West Sussex County Council

(Crawley: High Street) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along High Street between Pegler Way and Cross Keys.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst works continue to remedy damage caused by a burst water main. The Order will come into effect on 3 March 2024 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed. Any queries about the works to take place should be directed to Clancy Docwra, telephone number 01273 663591. Any queries about the effect of the Order on cyclists using the highway should be directed to WSCC, telephone number 01243 642105.

(Crawley: The Boulevard) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:-

(i)    prohibit waiting at any time in the parking bays on The Boulevard adjacent to and opposite the Royal Mail

Delivery Office and the HSBC building; and

(ii)   prohibit vehicles from travelling westbound on The Boulevard between the public toilets and High Street; and

(iii)  prohibit vehicles from travelling along The Boulevard between The Broadway and the public toilets. This restriction is not expected to be in place until 21 October 2024 and will be in place for 2 weeks.

The Order is necessary to project public safety whilst public realm highways improvement works are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 4 March 2024 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated the works will be completed by 29 November 2024.

(Crawley: Gatwick Road) 

(Temporary Bus Lane Suspension) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than seven days from the date of this Notice West Sussex County Council intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to permit any vehicle to proceed in the bus lane on Gatwick Road at the Radford Road roundabout junction. The Order is necessary to maintain two-way traffic flows along Gatwick Road whilst lane closures are in place to facilitate works to refurbish traffic signals and crossings.

The Order will come into effect on 18 March 2024 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated the works will be completed by 19 April 2024.

((Crawley Borough) (Parking Places and 

Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation) Order 2010) 

(Winfield Way Amendment) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made a permanent Traffic Order the effect of which will be to correct the road name for Winfield Way which is currently shown on the Order plans as Coachmans Drive.

The Order will come into operation on 4 March 2024.

Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to have a copy of the Order should telephone the West Sussex County Council Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive a copy by post.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirements of the act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 28 February 2024, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
