What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(CHALTON: FOOTPATH NOS 1, 2 AND PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO 2) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the following lengths of public:
I. Footpath No 1, Chalton which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0314 2777 to OS GR TL 0329 2783
II. Footpath No 2, Chalton which extends from OS GR TL 0334 2776 to OS GR TL 0311 2800 and to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the length of part of public:
III. Bridleway No 2, Chalton which extends from OS GR TL 0334 2776 to OS GR TL 0294 2785
These temporary closures are required to enable path repair works to take place. The closures are expected to be in place from 2 March to 1 September 2024 or until the works are completed.
There is no alternative route for footpath and bridleway users while the closures are in operation. Please use other public rights of way whilst the closures are in place.
Further details, including a map, can also be found on the Council’s website at: https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/info/82/countryside/431/rights_of_way/2 The Order will come into operation on 2 March 2024 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpaths and bridleway have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(CHURCH ROAD, HARLINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Church Road, Harlington between Westoning Road and Lincoln Way.
This temporary closure is required to enable the construction of a formal crossing to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 18 to 29 March 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Sundon Road, Harlington Road, Streatley Road, Sundon Road, Sharpenhoe Road, Harlington Road, Barton Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 18 March 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(RECREATION ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Recreation Road, Houghton Regis outside number 41.
This temporary closure is required to enable footway patching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 18 to 20 March 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Recreation Road, Tithe Farm Road, Hillborough Crescent, Sundon Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 18 March 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(LUTON ROAD, DUNSTABLE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Luton Road, Dunstable between Woodside and Poynters Road.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 18 March to 2 April 2024 between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Poynters Road, A5505, Luton Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 18 March 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(WEST HYDE ROAD, HYDE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of West Hyde Road, Hyde.
This temporary closure is required to enable surface dressing and lining works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 5 to 13 March 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B653, Westfield Road, Sun Lane, A1081 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 5 March 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(COPT HALL ROAD, HYDE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Copt Hall Road, Hyde.
This temporary closure is required to enable surface dressing and lining works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 29 February to 6 March 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Chiltern Green, Chiltern Green Road, B653 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 29 February 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(WOODSIDE ROAD, SLIP END) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Woodside Road, Slip End.
This temporary closure is required to enable surface dressing and lining works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 4 to 11 March 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Mancroft Road, B4540, Caddington Road, Luton Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 4 March 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(THE LANE, TEBWORTH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of The Lane, Tebworth between number 16 and Lane Farm.
This temporary closure is required to enable gully cleansing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 4 to 6 March 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
The Order will come into operation on 4 March 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Houghton Regis between the roundabout with Thorn Road and Bidwell Farm Barns.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 4 to 11 March 2024 between the hours of 9pm and 5am. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via Thorn Road, A505, B5120 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 4 March 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
