East Rochester Way, Temporary Speed Limit Due To Maintenance Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A2 GLA ROAD (EAST ROCHESTER WAY, LONDON BOROUGH OF BEXLEY) (TEMPORARY 40 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above-named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

2. The purpose of the Order is to enable highway maintenance works to take place on the A2 East Rochester Way.

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle to exceed a speed of 40 M.P.H. on the:

(1) A2 East Rochester Way eastbound carriageway between a point 2 metres northwest of the south-eastern building line of No.27 Lakeside Close and a point 390 metres southeast of the A2 on-slip road from Black Prince Interchange;

(2) A2 off-slip road to Upton Road between its junctions with East Rochester Way eastbound carriageway and Upton Road;

(3) A2 on-slip road from Upton Road between its junctions with Upton Road and East Rochester Way eastbound carriageway;

(4) A2 off-slip road to Black Prince Interchange between its Junction with East Rochester Way eastbound carriageway and the extended southern build line of No.122 Gravel Hill Close;

(5) A2 on-slip road from Black Prince Interchange between the extended southern build line of No.122 Gravel Hill Close and East Rochester Way eastbound carriageway.

The Order will be effective at certain times from 12:01 AM on the 29th February 2024 until 11:59 PM on the 24th August 2024 or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
