NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order
pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road
Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:
North Street (C21) and North Street, Burwell (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-267
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along North Street (C21) and North Street, Burwell as lies between Silver Street and Howlem Balk.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Toyse Lane – Ness Road – The Causeway (C221) and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pothole repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 31 August 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 07:30hrs and 18:00hrs 1 March to 12 March 2024.
Dry Drayton Road, Oakington (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-278
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Dry Drayton Road, Oakington as lies between the A1307 and Water Lane.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Water Lane – Station Road – Oakington Road, Westwick – Oakington Road, Cottenham – Rampton Road – Church End, Rampton – The Green (C186) – High Street – Rampton Road (C186), Willingham – Newington – Long Lane (C186) – Berrycroft – B1050 – A1307 and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pothole repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 16 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 15 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 16 March to 31 March 2024.
Cambridge Road (A1301), Hinxton (TEMPORARY NO RIGHT TURN TO & FROM) ORDER 2024-285
Is to stop any vehicle from turning left and right from and into Genome Campus, Cambridge Road (A1301), Hinxton.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1301.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway improvements and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 4 March and 23 August 2024.
Pembroke Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-294
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Pembroke Street, Cambridge as lies between Trumpington Street and Free School Lane.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Tennis Court Road – Lensfield Road – Trumpington Street (C296).
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 18 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 17 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 18 March and 21 March 2024.
Horseheath Green, Cardinals Green and Mill Green, Horseheath (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-204
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Horseheath Green, Cardinals Green and Mill Green, Horseheath as lies between the A1307 and Cardinals Cottage.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1307 – A1017 – Burton End, Haverhill – Nosterfield End, Shudy Camps – Mill Green and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pothole repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 4 March to 7 March 2024.
Dry Drayton Road, Oakington (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-205
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Dry Drayton Road, Oakington as lies between number 1 and the A1307.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A1307 – B1050 – Berrycroft, Willingham – Long Lane – Newington – Rampton Road (C186) – High Street, Rampton – The Green (C186) – Church End – Rampton Road, Cottenham – Oakington Road – Oakington Road, Westwick – Station Road, Oakington – Water Lane and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pothole repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 4 March to 7 March 2024.
Ross Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) and (TEMPORARY REVOCATION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ORDER) ORDER 2024-222 Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Ross Street, Cambridge as lies between number 15 and Mill Road.
During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area E (Consolidation) Order 1993 as amended by The City of Cambridge Area E (Consolidation) Order 1993 (Amendment No.62) Order 2018, schedule 6 One way streets: part 2: Roads and parts of roads in which pedal cycles are permitted to travel in the opposite direction of the one way street. Column 1: Street: Ross Street: Column 2: (Direction of travel except from pedal cycles) From south to north is hereby suspended.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Mill Road – Catharine Street – St Phillips Road.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate disconnection of water supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 11 March and 13 March 2024.
Stretten Avenue and Hale Avenue, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-228
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Stretten Avenue and Hale Avenue, Cambridge as lies between number 18 and Akeman Street; Harvey Goodwin Avenue and Stretten Avenue respectively.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Gilbert Road – A1134 – A1303 – A1134 – Harvey Goodwin Avenue and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 4 March to 5 March 2024.
King Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-233
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along King Street, Cambridge as lies between Malcolm Street and Manor Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Malcolm Street – Jesus Lane – Manor Street.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and
associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and
it will come into operation on 11 March 2024 and continue until these
works have finished or on the 10 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 21:00hrs and 06:00hrs 11 March to 14 March 2024.
Haslingfield Byway 6, Haslingfield (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2024-251
Is to stop any vehicle, cyclist, pedestrian and equestrian from proceeding along Haslingfield Byway 6, Haslingfield as lies between Butlet Way and the methodist church.
The alternative route for vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians and equestrians will be as signed.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 18 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 17 September 2024 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 18 March and 22 March 2024.
Balsham Road, Fulbourn (TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024-314
Is to impose a 40mph speed limit along Balsham Road, Fulbourn as lies between New Shardelowes Farm and Hind Loders.
The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate sluice value repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 March and 8 March 2024.
Burgess Road, Waterbeach (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-315
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Burgess Road, Waterbeach as lies between number 9b and Pieces Terrace.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Way Lane – Rosemary Road – Burgess Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate fire hydrant repairs and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 13 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13 March and 14 March 2024.
Shirley Road, Histon (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-318
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Shirley Road, Histon as lies between numbers 2 and 6.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Somerset Road – Merton Road – Aingers Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate upgrading water supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5 March and 8 March 2024.
Bartlow Road, Castle Camps (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-319
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Bartlow Road, Castle Camps as lies 40m either side of Church Road.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Bartlow Road – Camps Road, Bartlow – Dean Road – Ashdon Road – Bartlow Road, Ashdon – Church Hill – Radwinter Road – Radwinter Road, Radwinter – Ashdon Road – B1054 – Water Lane, Hempstead – Water Lane, Helions Bumpstead – Camps Road – Drapers Green – Park Lane, Castle Camps and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water meter chamber repair and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5 March and 7 March 2024.
Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE AND CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2024-324
Will be to temporarily suspend the bus lane and cycle lane as lies between Norwich Street and Glisson Road.
During the period this Order remains in force the Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Streets, Cambridge) (Bus Lanes) Order 2022, Schedule 1 – Roads and parts of roads on which any vehicle other than a pedal cycle, bus, hackney carriage or private hire vehicle is prohibited between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm on all days, Hills Road – On the western side of the carriageway from its junction with the northern boundary of Bateman Street to a point 28 metres southeast of its junction with Union Road is hereby suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate cover repair and associated works which are being carried out on or near the bus lane and it will come into operation on 6 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Hills Road (A1307), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 March and 8 March 2024.
Hauxton Road, Little Shelford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-326
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Hauxton Road, Little Shelford as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.
The alternative route for vehicles is via High Street – Church Street – A10 – London Road, Harston – Shelford Road – Newton Road, Little Shelford – Hauxton Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 26 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 25 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 00:01hrs and 04:30hrs 26 March 2024.
Brookhampton Street, Ickleton (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-329
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Brookhampton Street, Ickleton as lies between Ickleton Road and Church Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Butchers Hill – Fogge Street – Ickleton Road – Ickleton Road, Chesterford – B1383 – B184 – A1301 – New Road, Hinxton and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate disconnection of water supply and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 18 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 17 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 18 March and 21 March 2024.
Short Street, Bourn (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-298
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Short Street, Bourn as lies between High Street (C178) and Church Street.
The alternative route for vehicles is via High Street (C178) – Caxton End – Riddy Lane – Church Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway patching and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 18 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 17 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 14:30hrs 18 March 2024.
Tenison Road, Cambridge
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE LANE) ORDER 2024-307
Will be to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on Tenison Road, Cambridge as lies between Cannons Green and Devonshire Road.
During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area A (Consolidation) Order 1993, Schedule 23 Cycle Lanes Part 2 Mandatory with flow cycle lane, Tenison Road on its western side from a point 20 metres south of its junction with Tenison Avenue to its junction with Lyndewode Road. Tenison Road on its eastern side from its junction with Devonshire Road for a distance of 27 metres in a northerly direction is hereby suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate ducting and associated works which are being carried out on or near the cycle lane and it will come into operation on 4 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Tenison Road, Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs 4 March to 10 March 2024.
Rectory Road, Duxford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-308
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Rectory Road, Duxford as lies between numbers 42 and 56.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Hinxton Road – St Peters Street (C284) – Ickleton Road (C284) – Rectory Road and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 25 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 24 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:30hrs and 15:30hrs 25 March 2024.
Comberton Road (B1046), Toft (Layby) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2024-311
Is to stop any vehicle from parking / waiting along Comberton Road (B1046), Toft (Layby) as lies between both junctions of the B1046.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate compound storage and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 31 August 2025 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1 March and 30 July 2024.
Trumpington Road (A603) and Trumpington Street, Cambridge (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-312
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Trumpington Road (A603) and Trumpington Street, Cambridge as lies between Trumpington Street and the A1134; Trumpington Road (A603) and Grove Lane respectively. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1134 – A1307 – A603 or via Regent Street – Downing Street – Pembroke Street – Trumpington Street.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway improvement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 11 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 10 September 2025 whichever is the earlier.

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Baldock Way, Cambridge as lies between Blinco Grove and Hills Avenue.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Cavendish Road – A1307 – Blinco Grove and vice versa or via Cavendish Avenue – Hinton Avenue – Hills Avenue – A1307 – Blinco Grove and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate mobile crane and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 21 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 20 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:00hrs and 16:00hrs 21 March 2024.
Footpath off The Maples, Fulbourn (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2024-354
Is to stop any pedestrian from proceeding along Footpath off The Maples, Fulbourn as lies between The Maples and Hinton Road.
The alternative route for pedestrians will be as signed.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 25 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 24 September 2024 whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 25 March and 19 April 2024.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 4 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 3 September 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20:00hrs and 05:00hrs 4 March and 8 March 2024.
Cambridge Road and St Neots Road, Cambourne (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-403
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Cambridge Road and St Neots Road, Cambourne as lies between the A1198 and the dead end.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate vegetation clearance and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 March 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 1 April 2027 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1 March 2024 and 1 April 2027 (various times).
Granhams Road, Great Shelford (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-334
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Granhams Road, Great Shelford as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Granhams Road – A1307 – Hinton Way – A1301 and vice versa.
