What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (MOVERS LANE AND MORLEY ROAD, BARKING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE OF INTENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 1 April 2024.

The works expected for:

  • Gas mains replacement works to take 15 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 15 April 2024 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -

  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Movers Lane, north-westbound carriageway, from a point 3.5 metres south-east of its junction with Morley Road to its junction with Ripple Road (A123).

  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Morley Road, both sides, from its junction with Movers Lane for a distance of 5.8 metres in a south-westerly direction.

  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Morley Road (Except for access), both sides, from its junction with King Edwards Road to a point 5.8 metres south-west of its junction with Movers Lane.

  • Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Movers Lane (Except for access), both sides, from its junction with Alfred's Way (A13) to a point 3.5 metres south-east of its junction with Morley Road.

  • Suspend the pedestrian crossing on Movers Lane, both sides, from a point 16 metres north-west of its junction with Morley Road for a distance of 6.5 metres in a north-westerly direction.

  • Suspend the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone J 8.30am-9pm bays on the following lengths of road:

    o Movers Lane, south-eastbound carriageway, from a point opposite

    7.8 metres south-east of its junction with Morley Road for a distance of 6 metres.

    o Morley Road, north-eastbound carriageway, from a point 13.8 metres south-west of its junction with Movers Lane for a distance of

    5.9 metres in a south-westerly direction.

  • Introduce a one-way in Movers Lane (in a south-easterly direction), from its junction with Ripple Road (A123) to a point 3.5 metres south-east of its junction with Morley Road.

  • Introduce banned right turn from Movers Lane into Morley Road.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

  • Via Perth Road, King Edwards Road, Ripple Road (A123) and Movers Lane south-eastbound carriageway.

  • Via Alfred's Way (A13) and Ripple Road (A123). Dated 28 February 2024
