TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 202

Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 26th February 2024 it made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibit all pedestrians along the sections of footpath in Schedule 1 and pedestrians, cyclist and horse riders along the bridleways in Schedule 2. The Order is required to facilitate gas main repair works on or near the footpaths and bridleways. The Order will come into operation on 4th March 2024. The maximum duration of the closure under the Orders will be 6 months, however it is estimated that the closures will only be in operation for approximately 7 weeks from commencement of the works. All pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from the above footpaths and bridleways (except personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. Alternative routes will be provided via the adjacent highway network.
Schedule 1 Ford Footpath 3 from its junction with Offerton Lane for a distance of 100 metres in a predominately southerly direction, then in an easterly direction to the extended northwestern property boundary on no. 97 Greenbank Drive.
Schedule 2 Houghton Bridleway 107 from its intersection with Offerton Lane. Houghton Bridleway 107 from its junction with Houghton Footpath 94 for a distance of 50 metres in a northeasterly direction.
