ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Oxford, Footpath from Rewley Road, Sheepwash Bridge Date of Order: 15/01/2024 Came into force: 01/02/2024 This Order is being introduced because of demolition and construction of Sheepwash Bridge which is anticipated to take 12 months to be completed. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part of the footpath from Rewley Road by the Oxford Swing Bridge to the junction with the towing path of Oxford canal by the wooden arch bridge.

Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. The alternative route will be signed via Cripley Road, Botley Road and Rewley Road and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. Subject to consent of the Secretary of State for Transport the order may be extended. (Ref: T12809/AC)
