Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

B2163 Heath Road, Coxheath.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2163 Heath Road, Coxheath, from 19.00 hours on 19th March 2024, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 20th March 2024, or until the works have been completed.

B2163 Heath Road will be closed where it meets with Stockett Lane and Westerhill Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The junctions of Stockett Lane and Westerhill Road will also be closed where they meet B2163 Heath Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic:-

For B2163 Heath Road clockwise is via B2163 Heath Road, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 College Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Loose Road, A229 Linton Road and B2163 Heath Road.

For B2163 Heath Road anti clockwise is via B2163 Heath Road, A229 Linton Road, A229 Loose Road, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Postley Road, A229 Hayle Road, B2010 College Road, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road, B2163 Ewell Lane and B2163 Heath Road.

For Westerhill Road & Stockett Lane is via Westerhill Road, Amsbury Road, Hunton Hill, Dean Street, Workhouse Lane, Stockett Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Babylon Lane, Hawkenbury, ME17 3EP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow pole renewal works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Babylon Lane, Hawkenbury, on or after 8th March 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with New Barn Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Babylon Lane, New Barn Road, A274 Headcorn Road, Forsham Lane, Babylon Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Castle Road, Maidstone, ME16 0TT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Castle Road, Maidstone, from 23.30 hours on 9th March 2024, with estimated completion by 04.00 hours on 11th March 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Collier Street, Tonbridge, TN12 9SD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Collier Street, Tonbridge, on or after 5th March 2024, with estimated completion by 7th March 2024, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Chequer Tree Granary, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2162 Maidstone Road, The Heath, Goudhurst Road, Ballards Hill (Horsmonden Road), B2079 Summerhill, B2079 Winchet Hill, B2079 Goudhurst Road, B2079 West End, B2079 Church Green, B2079 High Street, B2079 Maidstone Road, Underlyn Lane, Green Lane, B2162 Collier Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Farleigh Lane & Glebe Lane, Maidstone.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Glebe Lane & Farleigh Lane, Maidstone, on or after 4th March 2024, with estimated completion by 8th April 2024, or until the works have been completed.

Glebe Lane, Maidstone

Glebe Lane will be closed from 4th March 2024, with expected completion by 15th March 2024.

The road will be closed from the junction with Farleigh Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Glebe Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, Farleigh Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Farleigh Lane, Maidstone

Farleigh Lane will be closed from 4th March 2024, with expected completion by 8th April 2024.

The road will be closed from the junction with Tonbridge Road to the junction with Gatland Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via the A26 Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 Broadway, A229 Fairmeadow, Bishops Way, Palace Avenue, Lower Stone Street, Upper Stone Street, Sheals Crescent, Postley Road, Old Tovil Road, Tovil Road, Tovil Hill, Farleigh Hill, Dean Street, Lower Road, Station Hill, Farleigh Bridge, Farleigh Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Goudhurst Road, Marden.​ (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Goudhurst Road, Marden, on or after 20th March 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on Goudhurst Road, Marden will be imposed 400m either side of the traffic lights, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Heniker Lane, Sutton Valence.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Heniker Lane, Sutton Valence, on or after 18th March 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Friday Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Heniker Lane, A274 Headcorn Road, East Sutton Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Hospital Road, Hollingbourne, ME17 1QE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow bridge examination works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hospital Road, Hollingbourne, from 22.00 hours on 5th March 2024, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 6th March 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Hospital Road, Greenway Court Road, A20 Ashford Road, Hospital Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Lenham Road, Kingswood, ME17 1LW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lenham Road, Kingswood, on or after 18th March 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Headcorn Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Lenham Road, Liverton Hill, Lenham Road, A274 Mill Bank, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Sutton Valance Hill, A274 North Street, Chartway Street, Lenham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Old Ashford Road, Lenham, ME17 2DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Old Ashford Road, Lenham, on or after 4th March 2024, with estimated completion by 16th March 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Tanyard Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Old Ashford Road, A20 Ashford Road, Faversham Road, Old Ashford Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sheephurst Lane, Marden, TN12 9LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sheephurst Lane, Marden, on or after 18th March 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Bournehurst, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Sheephurst Lane, B2079 Goudhurst Road, B2079 Summerhill, Ballards Hill, Goudhurst Road, B2162 Maidstone Road, Sheephurst Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

South Street, Barming, ME15 0LB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of South Street, Barming, from 23.00 hours on 9th March 2024, with estimated completion by 04.00 hours on 11th March 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

South Street Road, Stockbury.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of South Street Road, Stockbury, on or after 18th March 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Chalky Road and South Street Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Plum Tree Lane, Hill Green Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Quarries, Boughton Monchelsea, ME17 4NH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow new customer connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Quarries, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 7th March 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Bottlescrew Hill and the junction with Cliff Hill Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Cliff Hill, Cliff Hill Road, Bottlescrew Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

The Quarries, Boughton Monchelsea, ME17 4NQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow underground structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Quarries, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 23rd March 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Bottlescrew Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via The Quarries, Cliff Hill, Cliff Hill Road, Bottlescrew Hill, The Quarries and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Tower Lane, Bearsted, ME14 4JH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow street lighting replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tower Lane, Bearsted, on or after 4th March 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 17, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Roseacre Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Yeoman Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Upper Barn Hill & Hilltop, Hunton.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Upper Barn Hill & Hilltop, Hunton, on or after 4th March 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

Upper Barn Hill will be closed from the junction with Hilltop, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Hilltop will be closed from the junction with Upper Barn Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic for:-

Upper Barn Hill is via Upper Barn Hill, B2163 Heath Road, North Folly Road, Foremans Barn Road, Upper Barn Hill & vice versa.

Hilltop is via Hilltop, Shingle Barn Lane, B2010 Smiths Hill, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2163 Heath Road, Upper Barn Hill & vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ware Street, New Cut Road, Bearsted Road & A249 Bearsted Road, Bearstead (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic, in 3 phases, on Ware Street, New Cut Road, Bearsted & A249 Bearsted Road, Bearsted, on or after 26th February 2024 with an estimated completion date of 30th April 2025 or until the works have been completed.

Phase 1:

Bearstead Road and Ware Street will be closed between the KIMS Hospital Roundabout to Hockers Lane, from 4th March 2024, with an estimated completion date of 26th May 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bearstead Road, New Cut Road, A20 Ashford Road, Roundwell, The Street, The Green, Ware Street and Vice Versa.

Phase 2:

New Cut Road will be closed between the KIMS Hospital Roundabout and Grovewood Drive North, from 1st June 2024, with an estimated completion date of 31st July 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any northbound through traffic is via New Cut Road, A20 Ashford Road, Willington Street, A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, A229 College Road, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Mote Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Andrew Boughton Way, A249 Albion Place, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Bearstead Road and Bearsted Road.

The alternative route for any southbound through traffic is via Bearsted Road, A249 Bearsted Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Albion Place, A249 Andrew Boughton Way, A249 Ashford Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Mote Road, A229 Upper Stone Road, A229 Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road, Willington Street, A20 Ashford Road and New Cut Road.

Bearsted Road, between KIMS Hospital Roundabout and Newham Court Roundabout, will be closed, from 1st June 2024 with an estimated completion date of 31st July 2024. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any westbound through traffic is via New Cut Road, A20 Ashford Road, Willington Street, A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, A229 College Road, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Mote Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Andrew Boughton Way, A249 Sittingbourne Road and A249 Bearsted Road.

The alternative route for any eastbound through traffic is via A249 Bearsted Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Albion Place, A249 Andrew Boughton Way, A249 Ashford Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Mote Road, A229 Upper Stone Road, A229 Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road, Willington Street, A20 Ashford Road and New Cut Road.

Phase 3:

Bearsted Road, between Newham Court Roundabout and Eclipse Park, will be closed, from 1st February 2025 with an estimated completion date of 30th April 2025. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any westbound through traffic is via A249 Bearsted Road, New Cut Road, A20 Ashford Road, Willington Street, A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, A229 College Road, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Mote Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Andrew Boughton Way, A249 Sittingbourne Road and A249 Bearsted Road.

The alternative route for any eastbound through traffic is via A249 Bearsted Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Albion Place, A249 Andrew Boughton Way, A249 Ashford Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Mote Road, A229 Upper Stone Road, A229 Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road, Willington Street, A20 Ashford Road, New Cut Road and A249 Bearsted Road.

 

West Street, Hunton, ME15 0SE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of West Street, Hunton, on or after 18th March 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Vicarage Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Vicarage Road, B2010 Yalding Hill, B2010 Smiths Hill, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2163 Heath Road, Upper Hunton Hill, Hunton Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Willow Lane, Paddock Wood, TN12 6PF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MARCH 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Willow Lane, Paddock Wood, on or after 5th March 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Old Farm House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Willow Lane, Queen Street, Pearsons Green Road, Willow Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
