(Micro Asphalting Programme 2023, Various Roads In County Durham) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023

The Council on 28/4/2023 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road:-

Location (bold have no diversions) Oakley Green, West Auckland, Hutchinson St and side-May St-Bishop St, Bishop Auckland, Kitchen Ave-Cheesmond Ave-Coney Ave Bishop Auckland, Gurlish West-West Park, Coundon, Cosgrove Avenue, Bishop Auckland, Redworth Grove, Bishop Auckland, Cottage Rd-Quarry St-East View Terr inc side, Shildon, Wright Close, Newton Aycliffe, MacMillan Rd-Bertie Rd-Lightfoot Rd-Marshall Road, Newton Aycliffe, Gilpin Rd-Palmer Rd-Clanny Rd, Newton Aycliffe, Hawkshead Court - Hawkshead Place, Newton Aycliffe, Elm Road-Hawthorne Road, Ferryhill, Broom Cotts-Kitchener Terr inc back, Ferryhill, Meadowdale, Chilton, Wesley Street - Hope Street back, Crook, Station Road East, Coxhoe, Morley Crescent, Kelloe, Lynn Terrace inc road leading to, Wheatley Hill, Wingate Lane/ Durham Road, Wheatley Hill, Dene View, High Hesleden (Rear), 5th St-4th St-2nd St-Corry Close, Blackhall Rocks, Nottingham Place, Peterlee, Welland Close, Peterlee, Pinedale Dr-Elemore View-Plantation Walk-Sycamore Cl-Coldwell CI, South Hetton, Ravensworth Court, South Hetton, Coronation Rd-Dodds Terr-Moor Sq-Laing Sq-Walton Terr, Wingate, Hollinside Lane, Durham to enable carriageway micro asphalting surfacing works to be undertaken. Alternative routes, where available and required, will be signed to vehicular traffic during the works period. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 1/3/2024 and be completed within 1 month. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
