Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET, DOVER AND FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREAS

VARIOUS ROADS, DOVER, FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AND THANET (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of a program of carriageway patching and preservation works, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Dover, Folkestone and Hythe and Thanet, as per the schedule below.

This Order takes effect on or after 4th March 2024 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.  Road closures and other restrictions will be in effect when the appropriate signage and barriers are in place.

SCHEDULE

DOVER

COLDRED HILL (CHURCH HILL), LYDDEN
Road Closed between A2 to Canterbury Hill.
A diversion will be in place via A2 Dover Rd Lydden Hill and Canterbury Road vice versa.

DRAINLESS ROAD, WOODNESBOROUGH
Road closed between Foxborough Hill to Beacon Lane.
A diversion will be in place via Foxborough Hill Beacon Lane vice versa.

FOXBOROUGH HILL, EASTRY
WELLIS GARDENS, MARGATE
Road closed from All Saints Avenue to George V Avenue
A diversion will be in place via George V Avenue, Hartsdown Road and All Saints Avenue.

FORELAND AVENUE, MARGATE
Road will be closed from Northdown Park Road to Northdown Road
A diversion will be in place via Northdown Park Road, Northumberland Avenue and Northdown Road.

NORTHDOWN ROAD, MARGATE
Various sections between Queen Elizabeth Avenue and Princess Gardens
Stop and Go traffic Management.

FAIR STREET, BROADSTAIRS
Road will be closed from Fairfield Road to Wilkes Road
A diversion will be in place via Wilkes Road, Bromstone Road and Fairfield Road

GREEN LANE/NORTHDOWN HILL, BROADSTAIRS
Road will be closed between Reading Street Road and Beacon Road
A diversion will be in place via Reading Street Road and Beacon Road.

STATION APPROACH ROAD, RAMSGATE
Between no.106 and Margate Road
Stop & Go Traffic Management

CLIFFS END ROAD, CLIFFSEND
Road will be closed between Sandwich Road and Foads Lane
A diversion will be in place via Sandwich Road and Foads Lane

CHURCH STREET, MINSTER ON SEA
Road will be closed between Bedlam Court Lane to Church
A diversion will be in place via Sandwich Road and Foads Lane

 

VARIOUS ROADS, DOVER, FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AND THANET (20MPH & 40MPH SPEED LIMITS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To support a program of carriageway preservation works traffic speeds will be restricted to 40mph on the approach to, and then 20mph through, working sites on Various Roads Dover, Folkestone and Hythe and Thanet as per the schedule below. The 20mph speed restrictions will remain in force during works and for up to 7 days after the completion of preservation activities for the safety of road users.
