Barrow-in-Furness, Multiple Traffic Restrictions Due To Highway Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS BARROW IN FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road in Barrow-in-Furness:

Phase 1

(i) A590 Walney Road from a point approx 150m north of its junction with Park Road extending in a southerly direction for approx. 270m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A590 (Ulverston) and A5087

(ii) U6130 Park Road from its junction with A590 Walney Road, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 45m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Park Road, Schneider Road, Devonshire Road and Wilkie Road.

Duration: From 26th February 2024 for approx. 2 weeks between the hours of 1800 and 0600 only (Ref: TTROW/9430 -Phase 1)

Phase 2

(iii) A590 Walney Road from a point approx. 30m south of its junction with Wilkie Road, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 120m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A590 (Ulverston) and A5087

(iv) U6133 Wilkie Road from its junction with Holker Street, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 95m.

Alternative Route: via Devonshire Road, Ainslie Street, Abbey Road and the unrestricted section of the A590.

Duration: From 4th March 2024 for approx. 2 weeks between the hours of 1800 and 0600 only (Ref: TTROW/9430 - Phase 2)

Phase 3

(v)A590 North Road from a point approx. 40m north east of its junction with Jute Road extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 115m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A590, Duke Street, Michaelson Road Bridge and Bridge Road.

(vi) U6344 Jute Road from its junction with North Road, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 75m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Jute Road, Cornmill Crossing and Hindpool Road. Duration: From 11th March 2024 for approx. 2 weeks between the hours of 1800 and 0600 only (Ref: TTROW/9430 - Phase 3)

The Order will come into operation on 26 February 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
