What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS FP0602006, FP0602005, FP0602003 & PART OF FP0602084 PRESTON, PRESTON CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made a Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to prohibit temporarily all traffic from proceeding over the Public Footpath indicated below:-

Public Footpath FP0602006, Preston, Preston City from Point A (SD 5942 – 3250) in a generally west, north westerly direction for approximately 880 metres to Point B (SD 5877 – 3257).

Public Footpath FP0602005, Preston, Preston City, from Point B (SD 5877 – 3257) in a generally west, south westerly direction for approximately 165 metres to Point C (SD 5862 – 3251).

Public Footpath FP0602003, Preston, Preston City, from Point C (SD 5862 – 3251) in a generally north westerly direction for approximately 500 metres to Point D (SD 5832 – 3291).

Part of Public Footpath FP0602084, Preston, Preston City, from Point D (SD 5832 – 3291) in a generally northerly direction for approximately 130 metres to Point E (SD 5829 – 3303).

Public Footpath FP0602005, Preston, Preston City, from Point D (SD 5832 – 3291) in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 730 metres to Point F (SD 5886 – 3327).

The closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpaths.

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpaths, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpaths, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works

The Order will be operative from the 26th February, 2024, for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed within this period.
