What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Footpath 8, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 29 August 2024.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close to all pedestrians under section S14(1) of The Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended) Footpath 8, Boxted, in the City of Colchester for its entire length form its junction with Cross Cottages to its junction with Dedham Road, approximately 98 metres.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 31 August 2023 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required to allow for construction works and diversion of footpath.

The alternative route will be via Cross Cottages, Cooks Hill and Dedham Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 31 August 2023 and may continue in force for 6 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. This Order may be extended by the Secretary of State if an extension is required.

(Footpath 12, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close the following length of Footpath12, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from its junction with footpath 13 north west for approximately 245 metres to its junction with Church Street.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 26 February 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the footbridge is made safe.

No alternative route available.

The Order will come into effect on 26 February 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Birch Road, Layer-de-la-Haye) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Birch Road, Layer-de-la-Haye in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Church Road to its junction with Birch Park a distance of approximately 1075m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th March 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2353878-EH2353223 -Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, Layer Road, Colchester Road, Layer Breton Hill, Layer Breton Heath, Garlands Road and vice versa. The Order will come into effect on 29th February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dedham Road, Langham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dedham Road, Langham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 40m north west of its junction with Greyhound Hill for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st March 2024 for 1 night (19:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD01460599414/3 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while UPT installation works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Ipswich Road, Stratford Road, Colchester Road, Grove Hill, Birchwood Road, Wick Road, School Road, Moor Road, Langham Lane, Langham Road and vice versa (with access only into Dedham Road, Straight Road). The Order will come into effect on 29th February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hall Road, West Bergholt) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hall Road, West Bergholt in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 95m south west of its junction with Bures Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th March 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010753668 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Hall Road, Lexden Road, Colchester Road, Bures Road, and vice versa (with access only into Hall Road).

The Order will come into effect on 29th February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hedge Drive, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hedge Drive, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 10m north east of its junction with Hazell Avenue for a distance of approximately 25m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th March 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010724073 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Hazell Avenue, Paxman Avenue, Smallwood Road and vice versa (with access only into Hedge Drive).

The Order will come into effect on 29th February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Honeysuckle Way, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Honeysuckle Way, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Acacia Avenue for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th March 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WF9KR79M - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole installation works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Acacia Avenue, Magnolia Drive, Cypress Grove, Honeysuckle Way and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 29th February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Little Bromley Road, Ardleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Little Bromley Road, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Grange Road for a distance of approximately 210m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th March 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WF3VPT4T - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while lowering of frame and cover works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Shop Road, Bentley Road, Church Road, Barlon Road, Little Bromley Road, Carringtons Road, Briar Road, Back Road, Old Shield Farm Road, Waterhouse Lane and vice versa (with access only into Little Bromley Road and Ardleigh Road).

The Order will come into effect on 29th February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway & Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Limit) Order (No.5) 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in that length of road as specified in the schedule.

3. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road and those in the schedule for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 29th February 2024, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

(Carters Hill, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Carters Hill, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 230m north west then north east of its junction with Hill Farm Way for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th March 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WF8HMK3S - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Carters Hill, Cooks Hill, Dedham Road, Straight Road, Carters Hill and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 15th February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Coach Road, Great Horkesley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Coach Road, Great Horkesley in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 310m south west of its junction with Braeburn Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly then north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th March 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010746530 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Old House Road, The Causeway, Nayland Road and vice versa (with access only into Coach Road).

The Order came into effect on 15th February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(New Road, Tiptree) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of New Road, Tiptree in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 30m south west of its junction with Seldon Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th March 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03162992136/FH1 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while chamber replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, Chapel Road and vice versa (with access only into New Road).

The Order came into effect on 15th February 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Tendring) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Clearway) & (Temporary Introduction of 30mph Speed Restriction) (No.5) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Tendring as specified in the Schedule.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway on the above lengths of road, for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

3. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed restriction in the lengths of road as specified in the schedule.

"The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time" restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only.
