Wembley, Multiple Roads, Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Due To Events

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) (as amended) CIVIL CONTINGENCIES ACT 2004 - SECTIONS 22C and 22D WEMBLEY STADIUM AREA (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

The Council of the London Borough of Brent, on the recommendation of the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, hereby give notice that for purposes relating to danger or damage connected with terrorism, they have made an Order the effect of which will be, from 10.00 p.m. on the day before a Wembley Event Day to 8.00 a.m. on the day after that Wembley Event Day, to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of:-

(a) Engineers Way (entire length);

(b) Lakeside Way, between the south-eastern kerb-line of Empire Way and a point 3.00 metres east of that kerb-line;

(c) South Way, between the eastern kerb-line Wembley Hill Road and the south-western kerb-line of Second Way;

(d) First Way (entire length);

(e) Fulton Road, between the south-eastern kerb-line of Empire Way and the between the western kerb-line of Rutherford Way;

(f) the egress from the Holiday Inn Hotel car park and the adjacent unnamed service road to the existing multi-storey car park to the rear of the Holiday Inn Hotel, between the south-eastern kerb-line of Wembley Hill Road and a point 3.00 metres east of that kerb-line;

(g) Olympic Way:-

(i) between the northern kerb-line of Fulton Road and a point 8.00 metres north of that kerb-line;

(ii) between the southern kerb-line of Fulton Road and a point 5.00 metres south of that kerb-line;

(iii) Olympic Way, between the southern kerb-line of Engineers Way and a point 10.00 metres south of that kerb-line;

(h) Royal Route, between the south-eastern kerb-line of Wembley Hill Road and a point 3.00 metres east of that kerb-line;

(i) Stadium Way, between the south-eastern kerb-line of Wembley Hill Road and a point 4.00 metres east of that kerb-line;

when and where appropriate signs are being displayed. Wembley Events Days are the 25th February 2024; 23rd and 26th March 2024; 7th, 20th and 21st April 2024; 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th May 2024; 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 29th June 2024; 3rd, 7th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 27th, and 31st July 2024; 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 11th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 20th and 25th August 2024; 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 28th and 29th September 2024; 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th October 2024; 2nd, 3rd, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th November 2024; 1st, 2nd and 3rd December 2024. Additional days may be agreed by Brent Council's Head of Healthy Streets and Parking and will be listed as Wembley Event Days on the Brent Council website or the Wembley Stadium website, not less than 3 days beforehand.

The prohibitions referred to above will apply from 25th February 2024 to 31st December 2024 or until such sooner time as the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis directs.

Traffic affected by the prohibitions referred to above should proceed as indicated by traffic signs.

The Order will confer powers to police to direct that any provision of the Order be suspended, commenced or revived and to place barriers and obstructions on the above lengths of roads as they consider appropriate. It is anticipated that the above prohibitions will not be in force at all times during the prescribed hours, only as required by police.
