CUMBERLAND COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO. 10) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Viberoptix to carry out utility works ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

N.B. To facilitate the alternative routes, allow access/egress to residents and allow two-way traffic flow during the road restriction on Challoner Street, Cockermouth, detailed at number 11 of the attached schedule, the existing one-way restrictions on the following lengths of road will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the Works:

1. South Street Cockermouth from its junction with Challoner Street to its junction with Station Street (A5086); and

2. Challoner Street from its junction with Croftside to its junction with South Street.

Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order. Fibrus will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.

Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 373 3336 or via the Cumberland Council website. The references to quote are detailed in the schedule.

The Order will come into operation on 29 February 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
