What is happening?

TO WANSBECK TERRACE WEST SLEEKBURN
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections of highway in the County of Northumberland.
C403 Wansbeck Terrace heading eastwards from the level crossing for a distance of 20 metres.
C403 Riverbank to Wansbeck Terrace heading westwards from the level crossing for a distance of 20 metres.
The Order is to be effective from the 16th March 2024 until the 18th March.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from 21:30 hours on the 16th March 2024 until 05:30 hours on the 18th March 2024 - continuous closure.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the C403, C415 , A189, A1147 and vice-versa.
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be via a shuttle bus provided by Balfour Beatty.

The closure has been requested by Centurion Traffic Management on behalf of Balfour Beatty for tamping through the level crossing. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
