A196 NEWBIGGIN ROAD ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the A196 Newbiggin Road Ashington for a length of 20 metres either side of the level crossing in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 29th February 2024 until the 1st March 2024.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from 19:00 hours on the 29th February 2024 until 07:00 hours on the 1st March 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B1334, A189, A1147, A196 and vice versa.
Pedestrian marshalling will be in operation.

The closure has been requested by Centurion Site Services on behalf of Balfour Beatty for the replacement of tarmac on the under road crossing. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
